“A beautiful cottage in a lovely peaceful location.
There are lovely views over the scenic Eskdale Golf Course from all 3 bedrooms and we really enjoyed walking from the front door looking for the red squirrels and woodpecker and just soaking up the peace and quiet.
Although in a quiet location there are lots of lovely places to visit nearby and we had a wonderful time.
The cottage is well equipped and was spotlessly clean and very spacious and we hope to return.”

“A lovely well equipped cottage in a very tranquil setting.
Had everything we needed for 4 adults and 1 toddler over the course of a weekend stay.
Comfy beds, blissful views and lots of space indoors at really good value! We managed to get out and walk up Slight Side and Sca Fell during our stay, and Muncaster Fell also has an easy route starting from the door.”

“We had a great time at Wendy's cottage. I loved spaciousness of kitchen and cosy evenings at the fireplace. Children loved playing hide and seek at the cottage and they spend every morning looking out for birds out of the kitchen window.
Very close to Muncaster Castle, Roman Baths and on the way of Eskdale trail.
Wendy left for us book with all necessary numbers and informations about local attractions.
We love it and hopefully will come in the summertime.”

“We had the most wonderful and wholesome family Christmas in this cottage.
We’re a family of 2 adults and 3 teenagers, it was perfect! Enough space to be together in every room and enough rooms to have time apart.
Kitchen was well equipped to make Christmas dinner, the views and peaceful surroundings made a morning coffee surreal. The isolation made star gazing an absolute dream!
Thank you so much for hosting us, we hope to return one day. Xx”

“We had a wonderful stay at this cottage and only wish we could have stayed longer than one night! The location is stunning and peaceful, with beautiful mountain views that made for a perfect backdrop to our getaway.
The cottage exceeded our expectations. All three bedrooms were spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. The living room became our favorite spot - we spent the evening cozied up by the logburner, watching DVDs from their excellent collection and playing board games late into the night. The thoughtful touches like the board games and hi fi system really enhanced our stay and made it feel like a home away from home.
The kitchen was both beautiful and well-equipped with everything we needed. It’s clear the owners have put a lot of care into making sure guests have everything they need for a comfortable stay.
They had a guidebook on nearby shops and restaurants which was also helpful!
We’re already planning our return visit - next time for more than just one night 😊”

“Nice cottage on edge of lovely golf course (I'm not normally into golf courses, but the location of this one is stunning), with beautiful views of the hills. A good deal to do in the area, e.g. the little steam railway up to near Boot, where we had a good lunch and a little walk; sea beaches (e.g. Silecroft); Muncaster Castle (expensive but good, especially the birds of prey and chance to try archery etc); and Wast Water, the local lake, which is stunning and has a nice inn at the far end for lunch. Wendy really was a excellent host. We did have one problem -- that the wifi wasn't working, nor therefore the TV etc. -- but Wendy was very responsive and went the extra mile, making the place over the road available for us to do our work and watch TV, since it's wifi was working. She also was found and posted me my watch, which I left behind. So, despite the wifi problem, the quality of the property and setting and Wendy's excellence as a host makes this 5*.”

“Wonderful accommodation... so quiet ! with a cosy log fire and perfectly equipped kitchen. Wendy of course is lovely and the perfect host. Couldn't ask for more. Extremely good value for money. Great walks straight from the cottage.

nb: Wabberthwaite post office is your one-stop-shop for everything. Superb local butchers, grocers, firewood, newsagents - they have anything you might have forgotten.

The flip side is I absolutely detest airbnb, their needy communications are like a computer virus.”

“We had a wonderful stay at Wendy’s place! It’s in a remote, peaceful location surrounded by beautiful nature—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. There are some lovely walks nearby, and we made lots of great memories during our time there.
The kitchen was superbly equipped and very modern—everything we needed was there. We did have a minor plumbing issue during the weekend, but Wendy handled it quickly and fairly, which we really appreciated.
There were quite a few spiders and cobwebs around, but given the woodland setting and all the surrounding trees, that’s probably hard to avoid.
Wendy also gave us some great local recommendations which really added to the experience. Thank you for a memorable stay!”

“Yewtree Cottage is in a quiet and remote area with easy access to the golf club and centrally located for walks/hikes in the area. The cottage itself is clean and cosy and as described in the listing. The cottage does have some signs of aging but nothing more than you’d expect. The only real fault we found was that the showers are only useable if handheld as the head holders are either low down or fall down. Other than that everything was great. The kitchen is stacked with high quality utensils and the views are amazing. Thank you for allowing us to stay, I would recommend the cottage!”

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a spotless, cosy, and carefully prepared home that made us feel completely at ease.
Yewtree Cottage was the perfect stop on our family road trip from England to Scotland. Its warmth, charm, and comfort added so much to our journey—it quickly became one of the highlights of our trip. We only wish we had more time to enjoy it!
Our experience left such a strong impression that friends of ours from the USA, who are visiting soon, have already decided to book their stay at Yewtree based on our recommendation.
Thank you for helping us create a lifelong memory. The peace and comfort we found at Yewtree Cottage will stay with us for years to come.”
