Our beautiful Deer Run Chalet is located in the Stanislaus Forest close to parks, great views, dining, swimming, fishing, hiking, and skiing and has access for use at our private neighborhood lake...You’ll love our chalet with high vaulted ceilings, wood burning stove, modern yet rustic decor, comfy beds and high-end furnishings, open kitchen, and the amount of space...good for couples, solo adventurers, and families/groups up to 10. Great location close to everything. Wkly/mo rates too! So sorry, no pets (due to allergies). The space Our chalet has been given modern updates. This includes the bathrooms, kitchen appliances, new flooring throughout, paint and decor, and beautiful log beds and furniture. We have a campfire ring and a lovely covered porch to enjoy the lush surroundings. You'll love this tranquil and relaxing place in the forest. This chalet has what you need; bedding and pillows for all beds (10 people), bath towels, kitchen utensils and cookware, double oven, dishwasher, coffee pot, toaster, blender, 8 qt slow cooker, some basic items (basic spices and cooking oils, etc.), hand soap, dish soap, and paper products. You will need to bring your own toiletries and beach towels, and extra blankets/pillows/sleeping bag if you have an extra guest (more than 10 people). - Linens and bedding provided - Wifi - Double oven and Jenn-Air gas cook-top - Log dining table that extends for 12 guests - Nest thermostat - 2 Smart TVs - Propane BBQ - Washer and dryer - Hairdryer - Cocktail arcade table with over 400 classic video games - Air hockey table - Beach chairs and cooler for lake use - Campfire ring (please check for fire restriction updates!) - SNOW BLOWER - Xmas tree at Xmas (fake but lovely :) Guest access We will not physically be in the area during your stay. The upstairs has a full bath and two bedrooms with lovely log furniture and a vaulted ceiling (one room has a queen bed and the other room sleeps 6). All beds have waterproof mattress and pillow covers. There is also an open loft overlooking below. Enjoy relaxing in our large great room with an open kitchen and dining room and updated media center with flat-screen smart TV (and another smart TV upstairs). There are plenty of games and puzzles to enjoy. We offer access to a beautiful private lake in the Lakemont Pines neighborhood for swimming, fishing or lounging on a kayak or raft, or even a paddle-boat. Full guest access for 5 guests is included with your rental and includes lake use, snack shack and lodge activities (Snack Shack and lodge are typically open from mid-June thru Labor Day). Day-use wristbands for additional guests are $5 each. We are also less than 2 miles from the beautiful, and public, White Pines Lake…so many choices! Other things to note NOTE: We love kids, have 3 of our own, but due to the numerous stairs/staircases and lack of child safety gates we feel our chalet is best suited for children 5 yrs and older. LOCATION: We are ideally located and are a convenient 5 minute drive to the local market, brewery, cafés, ski rentals and rustic shops. We love how centrally located our chalet is! PARKING: There is an abundance of parking, with two different driveways. We STRONGLY recommend that lower cars/sedans use the more level RV parking/driveway to the left of the main driveway. The main driveway has a steep incline at the street line and lower vehicles could have a problem entering/exiting (you’ll understand when you see it. :) 4-wheel drive and lifted vehicles will be fine. SNOW CLEARING: Although Arnold does not get as much snowfall as Calaveras Big Trees and Bear Valley up Hwy 4, there can be plenty of snow at times, so be prepared with the proper vehicle (four-wheel drive, chains, etc.). We have a snow blower and shovels for your use in the garage if needed. Professional snow clearing of the driveway for an additional cost can be provided if desired, so please inquire if interested ($55-$75 depending on amount of snow). The exterior is monitored by a securtiy camera to view the driveway entrance to the porch Please conserve water and be careful with fire in the campfire ring.

Our kids absolutely loved the air hockey table and pac man which kept them entertained. We spent most of our time at Lake Alpine and one of the highlights of the trip was watching my wife catch her very first fish! “This was the perfect location for our family reunion. It was close to the private lake that we enjoyed and Big Trees state park. We loved the home layout it was very convenient for cooking and visiting at the same time. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would ever need to make a great meal. I loved the double ovens and the gas stove. Being able to seat 10 people comfortably at the table was fantastic. The upstairs bunk room was fabulous, plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably and the carpet was heavenly to walk on. It was great to have a inside laundry room with a sink. It was very kind of them to have beach towels to use. In fact all the linens and towels were very comfortable and clean. Some unexpected bonuses: the light that turned on going into the garage, a huge assortment of games to play, and plenty of parking. Overall, it was the perfect place for us and we were so grateful to be able to spend time up in the mountains.”

The cabin was spacious and had everything we could possibly need and more. It was cozy and welcoming and the perfect location. It was a little difficult to find in the dark and cell service does not work if you have At&t so I recommend getting there during sunlight hours. I went with my girlfriends and our kids and we had an amazing trip that felt like home away from home. Thank you for opening up your little treasure of tranquility to us!”

We wanted to take our 9-year-old daughter to see snow for the first time, and this turned out to be the perfect place and home for our trip. House can take a lot of people and has everything you could need and more. Kids really enjoyed the air hockey table and the arcades. Furnishings are great, like the house in general. “Our stay at the cabin was everything we hope for and more! We had such a great time with the whole family from morning coffee on the deck with beautiful forest views, to late night laughs, playing charades, and indoor air hockey.
The cabin itself was cozy, clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. The kids and adults had a blast, swimming kayaking, and paddle boarding at the lake. As well as relaxing and recharging.
It truly felt like a home away from home, but with way better scenery. The host was responsive and thoughtful, and we appreciated all the little touches that made the stay even more comfortable.”
“Our family of eight (five kids 10 and under + three adults) had a great time at Jackie's place. It was just the right size for us, super clean and had everything we needed for a four night stay. The beds were comfy and so were the recliners! All of the extras added to our stay as well; from the Air hockey table to the small fire pit to the extra beach chairs for the lake. It's clear Jackie is a great host who has thoughtfully considered all of her guests' needs. It was also so nice having Tanner Lake/Lakemont Pines as an option for the kids during our trip in the summer. Since it's a private HOA beach, it wasn't too crowded during our stay compared to other public lakes nearby. The only downside about the house is not having AC during the hot summer months but we got by with opening windows to let the air in at night and letting the fans do the work. Thank you, Jackie, for opening your beautiful home to us to make summertime memories!”

“The cabin in Arnold was absolutely perfect. The space was wonderfully equipped with everything we needed — from a fully stocked kitchen to cozy furnishings that made us feel right at home. Every detail was so thoughtfully considered, from the labels on each cabinet (which made it super easy to stay organized) to the abundance of games that kept everyone entertained. You can tell the hosts really care about creating a welcoming and comfortable experience. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and fun — I would absolutely stay here again!”
“2nd stay this year and another amazing experience. It had snowed pretty heavy earlier in the week and the driveway had been plowed and clear for arrival. There is nothing that hasn’t been thought of with this cabin! Just show up, bring some food and enjoy. A whole family favorite for sure.”

“The location of the cabin was ideal because we didn't have to drive through alot of curvy streets when we wanted to head out on hikes or sledding. Especially compared to some of our friends who were staying in other cabins ~5 mins away and had to drive through narrow windy roads.
The cabin is incredibly well stocked in terms of activities - board games for all ages and sports gear. If you're thinking of bringing something it may be worth an ask because the cabin is well provided for.
We had 2 challenges, one was how steep the driveway was. While it's detailed pretty well we scraped the bottom of our car almost every time we went in and out. I didn't realize that would be the case. There was an alternate place to park outside so I don't think that's a demerit, more a heads up that how it's been described should be taken to heart. We had one other challenge but found Jackie to be very responsive, thoughtful, and understanding.”

Also the owner Jackie is a prompt communicator and very kind to let us change reservation schedule since the weather of the original dates we booked wasn’t good. “This cabin was better than the photos. It just feels so happy and peaceful. It was very clean, comfortable, and very well stocked. The kitchen had anything I needed for cooking for all 10 of us. The six kids aged 2-11 were constantly busy with the air hokey, arcade, or toys and games. The location is about 7 minutes from the big trees with restaurants in between. We recommend Bistro Espresso. There were dozens of signs and written instructions throughout the home so you know exactly what is desired and expected from the owners. I found that to be very helpful and welcome. This was certainly one of the very best air bnb experiences we have ever had.”

“This cabin was set up so beautifully. Perfect for families', little kid's, big kids, and adults. The garage is VERY well kept and set up with everything you need from power outlets to air hockey, beach chairs, ice chest for our use. Tons of board games, toy closet, tons of sleeping beds. loved how the kitchen was labeled so we knew exactly everything went after we used it. The front deck was beautiful and equipped with a BBQ, a table and tons of chairs. We plan to make this cabin our annual family vacation spot for as long at Jackie and Mark will allow us ;)”

Everything was so thoughtfully planned out: the kitchen has everything you need to cook real homemade meals (we cooked every night!), there were things for the kids to do- air hockey, arcade games, books, board games, the lighting was warm and good for reading, the decor matched the woodsy location, bathrooms were spacious and sparkling clean, the heat and hot water worked perfectly.. Location is also perfect, so many hikes, a beautiful state park, cute little old time towns. We were a family of 4, this house could easily fit another 4+ ppl and still feel roomy.”

“Nice clean chalet well equipped with kitchen utensils, spices and clean linen and towels. Nicely located in the forest to enjoy calm and wilderness while at the same time accessible by walk to Big trees market. We had a nice time cooling down at the Tanner lake. The place is equipped with fast Wifi but cellular signal is spotty before you arrive to the chalet, so the host's instructions tp download the directions offline really helped.”

“I can not recommend Mark and Jackie's home enough. The house is spacious and beautiful - the pictures not do it justice. It's extremely clean and well cared for- what we found particularly impressive was how organized the home was, particularly the kitchen with every cooking supply one could need. The home is located in a beautiful wooded location, with quick access to Arnold, and we had very easy drive to ski at bear valley each day. Mark and Jackie were extremely good communicators and generally very nice people - they responded to all requests and questions quickly. We will absolutely be staying here again, as well as recommending it t our friends. We give the home our highest rating.”

A couple things to note, the driveway is steep, definitely listen to Jackie's advice to park in the RV spot if you have a lower car. Also, the living room is pretty dim, we kept looking to see how we could make it brighter, but ended up spending most of our time at the dining table.”

“Great cabin exactly as described. Thank you Jackie! We had a group of six and there was a ton of comfortable space for everyone. The kitchen is ideal for cooking for groups - the range is excellent and every item you need is there, plus tons of serving ware. Easy driving to Calaveras Big Trees, Arnold Rim Trail, and steps away from a private lake. Although cell service is spotty, the wifi connection is strong for remote work.”
“Jackie’s spot is comfortable and spacious. Nestled on a quiet street in the trees, our group really enjoyed the location — it was close to hiking and a great grocery store when we needed a quick run for some things we’d forgotten. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed for multiple meals at home. We especially enjoyed using the private lake passes. SO relaxing! And we got to see a variety of wildlife near the house too! Of note: a coyote and a deer buck!”

It was one of the best-outfitted Airbnb’s we’ve stayed in, with a well-stocked kitchen, games and puzzle cabinet, comfortable beds, and plenty of space for our family. The location can’t be beat. Only about 30 mins to the snow park and minutes from town, trees and snow right out the door. We can’t wait to come back.”

“Jackie’s place is even more beautiful than the pictures show. The home was exactly what we wanted, nestled in the woods, calm and serene. We thoroughly enjoyed staying and making holiday family memories. We always love spending time in Big Trees State Park and it’s so close. The wood burning stove was also a lovely perk. “This was just an incredible experience overall. The house is absolutely gorgeous, way bigger than I’ve ever expected. High ceilings, spacious rooms and closets, enough bathrooms and parking spaces to accommodate for us all, everything was perfect top to bottom! Jackie was also a wonderful and communicative host - we got hit by the fresh mountain air and overslept quite a bit and she was so understanding and let us have a late check out. The amenities are just over and beyond, so many thoughtful touches - a fully stacked kitchen, plenty towels and blankets, games to appease everyone of all ages. We had such a great time celebrating my husband’s birthday here with our families - will definitely be back soon!!!”
“Jackie and Mark’s place is beautiful, clean, thoughtful and serene. My kids and I stayed for a week. Internet was solid so they were able to do their online school with no problem. The chalet is close to the lake(s) and grocery store, but it is still nestled in the woods and quiet. On the weekend, we took a trip to the Columbia State Park (30 min drive) where we spent the day gold mining, walking around and having lunch. Mark and Jackie quickly responded to any and all of our question with such kindness as well. We can’t wait to be back!”

“We had an amazing time at Mark and Jackie’s Deer Run Chalet! Three of my friends and I stayed there for a month, and the whole experience was amazing. Mark and Jackie were extremely communicative at all times, and really went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
The hiking in the area is great, and if you want something more than what Arnold can offer, Tahoe to the north and The Sonora Pass and Yosemite to the south are both easily within driving distance.
Overall, we had a great time and would certainly stay here again if ever back in Arnold.”
“Great place for friends and family to gather. The place is huge, clean and easily accommodate 10 people comfortably. Love the scenery and we got to see Deers roaming near the property the last two times we were there. Love the smell of the morning fresh air and relax to the sounds of nature.”

Plenty of things to do for teens and adults. Quiet and safe area. Grocery store and Dollar General near by. WiFi is great, no cell service if you have AT&T.”

Second year in a row at Deer Run Chalet. Best cabin we’ve rented in all of our 24 years of visiting the area. Great location right near everything in Arnold and the surrounding area. Jackie is an amazing host who has thought of everything a guest could need. When we weren’t swimming in the private lake, hiking in Big Trees, or shopping around Murphys, there was plenty to keep toddlers, adults and even teens amused around the house. (We are going to need an air hockey championship trophy for next year!)

“This house is spectacular and the location to all amenities is close. The lot itself is spacious and provides good sledding when there is snow. There are beautiful cabin details throughout the home and it was so comfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook and the bathrooms were clean, organized, and modern. The bedrooms were so homey and comfortable. The kids and I loved the air hockey and video game machine and there are many games to play and books to read. Our family had an awesome time and will leave with a memory that will last a lifetime.”
