Loved the sounds of the rustling pines in the breeze surrounding us. The weather was so amazing from our super hot nearby SO CA home and just such a short trip up the mountain. It couldn’t have been a more easy peaceful and relaxing weekend and we brought our pug with us, which was a bonus for ua to have a dog friendly place. The outdoor space was also quiet and enjoyable. The squirrels provided our entertainment as they were snacking on pine cones while we enjoyed our morning coffee/tea sitting outside and looking up! And now, the local park which we loved before has a beautiful tribute to the Big Bear Eagle 🦅 “Jackie” who recently died. Just lovely walk there and back!

“The Pines was perfect for a peaceful midweek retreat with the doggo in tow, while only being a short drive to the Alpine Pedal path, the Stanfield Marsh Wildlife and Waterfowl Preserve, hiking trails, and Big Bear Village restaurants & shops. The cabin was cozy, and loaded with all the amenities and comforts you could need- from the comfortable beds & linens, to the fully stocked kitchen. The screened-in porch and hanging chair were the star, though- perfect for slow mornings with a coffee or two. Kameron is an amazing host- always responding within minutes to questions about the cabin and nearby activities. I can’t wait to go back!”

“I loved this cabin, but most of all the host, Kameron. I had emailed him a few times before our trip because I always have a lot of anxiety and he was immediate in all his responses- before, during and after. The cabin was perfect for my husband and me. My favorite part of the cabin is the front porch. It was nice and cool in the morning and evening which was badly needed because of the unusual August heat. I loved the relaxing swing where I drank my coffee in the morning, and wine in the evening - perfect!
Kameron also made it very inviting with welcome snacks, wine and even some flowers. I think this is my favorite Airbnb - mainly because of this host. I highly recommend.”

We come to Fawnskin every year to see the nearby bald eagles, and this was in a perfect location—a short walk to the park from where you can view their nest! Our only "complaint," if you'd even call it that, was that there appeared to be only four adult-sized towels total in the house (and none we could find upstairs, even in the bathroom!), which wasn't ideal between showers and the hot tub, but otherwise, we'd definitely come back!”

“The cabin itself was nice and we enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, the experience after checkout was a completely different story.
My husband cooked dinner for my birthday during our stay, and we did leave a few dishes in the sink when we left. Washing dishes was not included in the checkout instructions we were given, so we were surprised to later receive a cleaning charge. Future guests may want to make sure every dish is washed before leaving, regardless of the checkout instructions.
We were also blamed for plumbing issues even though the shower drain was backing up from the very first shower we took, with water pooling around our ankles. We were accused of damaging the hot tub cover, despite the issue being resolved by simply adding air back into it.
If you’re traveling with a senior dog, be aware there are quite a few stairs. That’s not the host’s fault, but it made getting our older dog in and out more difficult than expected.

The hot tub wasn't heating properly; despite the host's quick reset, it took nearly a full day to warm and never got hot enough to use. The BBQ ran out mid-cooking and the fire pit lasted under 5 minutes; the host noted prior guests had heavily used them and replaced the fire pit fuel, but regardless, it's the host's duty to ensure amenities are ready for each new booking. The bedroom heater was broken, noted only via a written note we found in the house after checkin. These issues caused repeated interruptions to a short trip. At 6pm, Kameron offered a full night's refund if we wished to leave; we accepted, confirmed, and left within an hour. Next day, however, he declined the refund, offering only a small goodwill gesture for the hot tub. We had to go through Airbnb support, and Airbnb approved the promised full night refund based on the record of our communication with the host.”

The attention to details and just how “at home” you’ll feel is the epitome of what a vacation spot should be. My wife and I didn’t want to leave, we felt so relaxed. The mini office was perfect since we both had to work for a bit during the week. Location was about a 10-15 minute drive from the resort and village so it’s super easy to get around.

“This place was fabulous! Better than we expected. Such care to detail, warm and cozy decor. Everything was in good condition, the house was beautiful inside and out. My kids loved the bunk bed room. The master was amazing. It was freezing outside but we felt nice and warm throughout the whole house. The neighborhood was beautiful. The lake was so close to the house. There were so many little perks that we never even imagined. I would totally come back here again. The host was quick to respond, and very friendly. “This was one of the very best Airbnb’s stays we’ve had ! And we’ve had alot. Kameron is a rock star host - very responsive, incredibly friendly, helpful and easy-going to work with. The space is welcoming and cozy with everything we needed and wanted. Highlights for us: very quiet peaceful neighborhood, with access to trails very close by for hiking and bike path for riding. The bedroom was amazing - styled nicely and bed comfy! At night it’s set up to be completely dark so it’s wonderful for getting some sleep.

“If you are looking for a modern, fully stocked, clean property, with a friendly host, this is your spot. The house is stocked with everything you could need and things you wouldn’t even think of.
Upon arrival, I was greeted with a custom hand written welcome letter, wine, and candy. The kitchen was stocked with all the basic spices, quite a few treats, milk, creamer, you name it, it was there.
The house has well-serviced WiFi and internet tv. The area is quiet and about an 11-15 min drive from the village, Starbucks, and Vons. The house is beautifully decorated as well. Feels like home.
Next time I’m in the area, I’ll definitely book here again!”

“My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at Kameron’s place in Fawnskin for two nights, and it was truly an incredible experience from start to finish. The location was perfect for us — close enough to Big Bear Village to enjoy the shops and restaurants, yet tucked away in a quieter, cozier part of the mountain that made it feel like a retreat.
During our stay, we were able to explore so much. We spent time in the Village, went paddleboarding on the lake, and even took a beautiful hike nearby that gave us some amazing views. Having Kameron’s home as our base made all of these adventures that much better because we always knew we’d come back to a space that was warm, inviting, and thoughtfully set up.

“Kam is the best! Before check in he asked if we needed anything before we got there. He responded super fast, he let us check in early, and since he knew we had a newborn, he set up humidifiers in the rooms for us. His place was absolutely gorgeous, super clean, and in an amazing area! He stocked snacks and even had laundry detergent sensitive which was great for washing messy babies clothes! Like he went above and beyond for being an exceptional host! My husband and I agreed from now on we are only booking with him when we come down to big bear no matter the cost bc it definitely was worth every penny and more! I hope other Airbnb people become like him bc he is an example of how great Airbnb can make a quick family trip an amazing memorable place that feels like home!”
