Centrally located, minutes away from the North and West Entrance of Joshua Tree, the Mohave Preserve, and the 29 palms Sky’s the Limit Observatory.

Enjoy harmony as you are surrounded by desert landscapes and nature at this 2.5-acre property. Views of stunning sunsets and cacti, from the window walls wrap this cosy High Desert home. This property sits between the west (15-minute drive) and the north entrance to Joshua Tree National Park (5-minute drive) and is less than a mile away from signature hiking trails the 49 Palms Oasis and the Indian Cove campgrounds that also have great rock climbing amenities. Step into this 1950 midcentury cabin that is approximately 1000 square feet, the entrance is through the living area, which is a huge open-plan room overlooking the kitchen and dining area. The dining area opens out to the back patio with breathtaking scenic views of the Mojave Desert and Joshua Tree Mountains. The cabin has a well-equipped kitchen Cook your favorite meals with ease using our appliances and cookware and is tastefully decorated in southwestern colors. In one section of the living area, there is a queen-size day-bed for guests to sleep on. The living room is furnished with couches and, an armoire with entertainment, such as a flat-screen TV and sound system. From the living area, to the right there is a small hallway entrance to the bathroom, and to the left the huge master bedroom with a king bed. This bedroom leads to the outdoor patio that has amazing views of the rural Mohave desert landscape. This patio has comfortable patio furniture to relax in and provides great stargazing views. This private relaxing retreat location allows you to reconnect and recenter with nature taking center stage. This cabin has been designed to enjoy the natural landscape with large windows and open glass sliding doors, The house has black out drapes for privacy. We ask that all guests be careful walking around the property as cactus are numerous. Please leave no trace on the grounds and respect the desert and the wildlife. As part of our sustainable tourism efforts, we support our local community, therefore this cabin is named after, our famous local and world artist, Chuck Caplinger. His signature artwork is displayed in the cabin. A series of his paintings were featured in Southwest Art Magazine, and his “Tribute to Marilyn” mural was exhibited in the Hollywood Entertainment Museum in Los Angeles. I am available to answer any questions that you have. The cabin is private guest house, guests have access to all spaces in the cabin, including a patio. The guests have their own private driveway and parking spaces.The guests of the cabin have private entrance to the nature trail on the property. This guest house cabin, is next to the main house of the property that is also listed as an Airbnb .The cabin and the house are completely private each has its own private entrance , drive way and parking space. As you host, I am delighted you chosen my home for your vacation or work-stay. We appreciate our neighbors and respect their peace and privacy. Therefore, this home is not suited for large groups or to have parties, or any function that would disturb the peace of the neighboring community. “Chuck's Cabin ist ein sehr großzügiges Haus mit vielen Fenstern, man hat also in jede Richtung den herrlichen Blick nach draußen in die Wüstenlandschaft und Stimmung. Der Love-Chair auf der Terrasse ist traumhaft für den ersten Morgenkaffee mit Weitblick in die Landschaft. Die Privatspäre ist gegeben, man fühlt sich aber nicht "lost" irgendwo da draußen, da man schnell zum Einkaufen und Restaurants mit dem Auto gelangt. Die Empfehlungen ( Guidebook) von Nalini sind sehr hilfreich und somit kann man sich vorher schon eine gute Vorstellung machen von dem, was in der Umgebung an Infrastruktur gegeben ist.
Die Betten waren sehr bequem und die Cabin verfügt über eine gut funktionierende Heizung, die man in den Wintermonaten bequem den Außentemperaturen anpassen kann. Das Haus besitzt ebenso eine Alarmanlage, was für ein gutes Gefühl sorgt, wenn man es nicht gewohnt ist, abgeschieden zu wohnen. Die Pflegartikel, Handtücher und extra Decken sind sehr hochwertig, Danke liebe Nalini!”

“We absolutely loved everything about Chuck's Cabin. We were in town for 3 days to hike Joshua Tree NP, so the location was perfect. The property is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The back patio is the perfect place to relax after a day of hiking. There is a washer/dryer we were able to use to get all that trail dirt/dust out of our clothes. This is always a big deal to us as we are able to pack much lighter when we know we will be able to do a bit of laundry while away. There is a full kitchen with stove, fridge, freezer, toaster oven, etc. The view out back is beautiful. It was cold during our stay, but the heating units worked great and were easy to operate.
When in this area again we would definitely hope to stay here again.”

“My boyfriend and I had an absolutely lovely stay at Chuck's Cabin thanks to Nalini's thoughtfulness and exquisite communication. The two of us have frequented Joshua Tree and the surrounding area and have stayed at quite a few airbnbs. Chuck's Cabin was sparkly clean and the kitchen had most everything we needed to cook our meals entirely from home. The cabin was well-heated and cozy and the two of us enjoyed wandering around the small nature path star-gazing at night. The kind bed was comfortable and the couch in the living room was perfect for snuggling up on at watching a movie. We appreciated the outdoor seating and small patio that looks out onto a view of the mountains and adjacent homes down the road. If you prefer a desolate kind of desert privacy--this is not the spot for you. The cabin is located conveniently off a main road and adjacent to another rental unit. We will be savoring this experience out in the desert until next time.”

“Amazing cabin. We stayed here for our anniversary weekend and totally loved the place. Cabin is beautifully decorated and contains all the amenities. The location is perfect too. It is 10 minutes from the national park and 5 minutes from all the shops. Communication with Nalini was a breeze too. Would definitely recommend staying in this cabin if you are going to Johua National Park.”

“The house is really cute. The beds are very comfortable with the king bed being in a separate large bedroom and the Queen day bed is in the living room also comfortable. The kitchen though small is efficient, the stove is top notch, has coffee maker (not Keurig), a toaster oven and a microwave.
Cute dining room with windows on three sides to enjoy the view.
We will be staying here again in the future.”

“We had a lovely stay at Chuck’s Cabin! Location is easy. Comfy hanging indoors but also a nice outside area. Great views. Lots of wildlife viewing.
Adequate cooking supplies if that’s your plan, although there isn’t much in the way of staple ingredients. If you’re planning to cook I would recommend bringing everything you need with you (we did so it wasn’t an issue).
Would definitely stay here again.”

“Chuck's Cabin exceeded our expectations - normally you're lucky if an airbnb kitchen is stocked with salt and a coffee maker. This kitchen was fully outfitted with multiple pots and pans, cooking tools, and spices which made cooking a Christmas dinner there easy and enjoyable. They have a wide collection of classics on VHS including The Mask, Die Hard, Titanic, Home Alone, Jurassic Park etc etc - lots of 80s and 90s gems. The location felt super private right on the edge of JT park and the views were gorgeous. 10/10 recommend!”

“This cabin is an amazing space! My hubby and I came here for our one year anniversary and it was the perfect place for us. It’s so colorful and inspiring! We brought down our instruments and paints to create together and had such an amazing trip. We were able to cook our own meals as the kitchen was fully stocked, the beds and couches were super comfy, the kitchen was soooo nice in the morning for tea and chatting, the little path and back patio were amazing for star gazing, and Joshua trees downtown area was only 15 mins away! We’ll definitely be coming back to Chucks Cabin 💛🌵”

Sparkling clean, tons of space, a beautiful view, wonderful, colorful visual details everywhere, a bed we could have slept in forever... really a rare gem. And to top it all off, the cabin is just a few miles from a much less trafficked entrance to Joshua Tree National Park-- no lines to get in! If you are planning to visit Joshua Tree-- this is absolutely the place to stay.”
