Having their own Key Colony Beach marina was extremely convenient for bringing our boat. “We came down for lobster season. This property had everything we needed and more. Even a bait freezer! So many people come down here to fish/lobster and yet so many owners don’t have a bait freezer. This was a big plus. The beds were super comfy, kitchen stocked, great layout, and location was sooooo convenient to everything (ice, gas, marina, ramp, bait/tackle, bars, ocean/gulf, restaurants, etc etc). We were thrilled with the house and Mary’s responsiveness.”
“The house was very comfortable and the backyard was a special treat, with loungers for sunning and a shady gazebo with comfortable seating. We spent lots of time out there. There were two times that we had to reach out to the owner with a simple problem and both times she responded immediately and took care of the issue right away. The fridge was spacious and the kitchen had lots of items for stove top cooking. She had cookie sheets but no oven casserole dishes so we bought some foil pans for that. The washer/dryer worked great and the shower's hot water was plentiful. The community pool was wonderful and only a short walk away.”

“Great neighborhood and close to beach, restaurants, sunset park. We did have 2 palmetto bugs(on glue traps)during our stay. Wish the front door had blinds as it is a clear/not frosted glass door. Labels on lights were helpful. Given 1 trash bag for a 4 day stay for 5 ppl with note explaining it is starter kit. Few lights had burnt out bulbs, we found extra bulbs but not correct size. All in All, mary was great and we all enjoyed her place to come to after a long day”

“Mary's place was in a very safe and beautiful location. Everyone was friendly and there were endless dining options. There were even local conveniences that I didn't expect nearby such as Dollar Tree, Winn Dixie, Home Depot, etc. Showers had great water pressure, hot water, and had zero sulphur smell. Decor was lovely and ample storage space for your things. A/C and heat works great and no musty smells anywhere. Beds, outdoor furniture and couches very comfortable. Convenient off-street parking. Was too busy to enjoy the cabana amenities but visited it briefly and it looked wonderful. Thank you Mary hope to return in the future!”

“Really liked this quiet place, we went to the backyard Tikibar everyday. The included Cabana club, few minutes walk distance, was also pretty nice with pool and beach access. For rainy day, the pool table serves well! We enjoyed fish on the available BBQ as well, kitchen is really well equiped.”

The kids and dad rented kayaks around the corner and cruised around the canals and when they wanted a break there is a dock on the back of the house to which they could get off and on from
Neighbors were very friendly and helpful on fishing tactics (Michigan fishing is different…)
House was well all I can come up with is the word “perfect” to the part where we had a family meeting and we are going to do this every year at Mary’s house and it’s dog friendly … we didn’t take our dog Patty melt this year but next year and after we will”
“Ac definitely needs serviced. Temperature never got below 75. Don’t think the blower is even working in the rooms except the living room. The main bedroom was probably the only true cool enough bedroom of the 3 to comfortably sleep in. The one without a window unit was unusable to sleep in it got so hot. Bathrooms were like saunas. Limited pots/pans/bowls hindered cooking. Very unfortunate there was no flat top/black stone to cook on which was pictured in listing. Had a dock lift that was unusable also. Location is spot on. Easy access to the ocean. Was a little thrown off by the $30 charge for launching and then again for trailering the boats. Would definitely come back in the cooler months.”

The AC not so much, however we did not call and complain as we work on AC not in it n there wasn’t much to be done; the house must have been unoccupied the week before n it was hot when we got there. The price we paid for it was a bit high as I booked in Oct for July n we started at 3 nights then was told We must do full week as it was mini lobster season. Turned out good as it made us use built up vacation time. However next year’s mini is listed for susbstantially less per night. It is centrally located and easy to get to great fishing on both coasts so book it while you can.
Overall we had a great time. Mary is great, we checked in early and she even helped finding a closer boat ramp.”

“Mary’s house is great in so many ways! She was responsive and easy to work with. Mary provided clear instructions for arrival and was helpful with suggestions of things in the area. We arrived near dark and the dusk to dawn outdoor lighting was helpful, and also the light switches are all labeled which was a plus. The house was super clean and just as pictured! I usually expect to do my own cleaning before unpacking, but with Mary’s house that wasn’t needed. The kitchen was fully stocked. With the tiki bar and plenty of lounge chairs, we were able to enjoy the water views and also fish from the dock. It was nice having a fish cleaning station and outdoor freezer right at the house. There’s a gas grill in the back which was an added bonus. The house is in a great location within Key Colony Beach. It’s walkable to the Cabana Club and plenty of streets to walk dogs. Our dogs enjoyed cooling off on the tile floors inside. We enjoyed our time at Mary’s house and I highly recommend!”

Cleaning crew should do a better job removing bathroom mold and dusting ceilings. They did not sweep under furniture and did not pull out refrigerator drawers. I had to do some cleaning to feel comfortable.
The backyard landscape was outstanding. Loved the tiki hut/bar for a relaxing afternoon break.

“Mary has been the ulitimate host and her Key Colony property served our family reunion well. It's location makes it a great base to explore the Keys. The pool table was an additional bonus which, in our downtime, kept our guest engaged with each other rather than diving into their mobile/gaming devices.
Mary has been a pleasure to work with and is very attentive, promptly responding to any questions or concerns we may of had. She is flexible and works well to fullfill any special needs you may require. We will definitly check out this and her other properties when we plan future trips.

“i feel obligated to write an honest review. this place was extremely disappointing, especially for the money! it is not “completely renovated”, as advertised. the bathrooms and kitchen have been updated, otherwise it needs a lot of work. there is a musty smell. there is no vent in the master bath, the bedrooms are warm. there are 2 window units in master and guest (very loud and bad installs). there were a bunch of palmetto bugs (dead and alive). we couldn’t use the guest toilet b/c it clogged. the floors were filthy! the water pressure in shower was very low. it’s so humid out bathing suits wouldn’t even dry after hanging up for days. i explained issues to mary, she apologized and offered to send help over, but i declined b/c that is not how we wanted to spend our vacation. we have never had issues like this at other airbnb’s. very disappointing, wish i had seen the review about past flooding experience with past tenant. there are bugs b/c house is not properly sealed.”

“Mary was extremely responsive - impressively so. When there were small issues (the fridge door handle came loose), she responded immediately and sent over a repairman the very next morning. There were many instructions, the kitchen utensils/pans/appliances covered all of our needs. The Key Colony Beach community and Cabana Beach Club were excellent: a good blend of quiet and scenic, but lots to do and fun to be had! There were two restaurants within walking distance and many others that were a short drive. We loved having the canal in our backyard and enjoyed breakfast in the tiki hut. Why we gave it 4 stars instead of 5: there was a LOT of clean up requested from us despite also paying a large cleaning fee, the beds were not very comfortable (very soft, quite high, nice linens), and even though we booked for 5 nights were told we could only book for 7. We were a party of 6 adults (3 couples, from late twenties to mid-60's), stayed for a week over Christmas. Overall would recommend.”
“We enjoyed our stay in this house! My husband and FIL are big fishermen and loved the ability to fish right outside in the backyard. The Cabana Club was within walking distance which had a great heated pool, food/drinks and a private beach that wasn't busy. We unfortunately had lots of rain during our stay which caused some flooding in the house but Mary was very responsive, apologetic and willing to provide assistance with fixing the problems. There are lots of fun family activities and restaurants very close to the house. We also spent a day in Key West which is just over an hour drive. Highly recommend!”

Since we had kids with us we chose not to go. Kitchen has dishware , pots and pans, and cookware but not much else except a roll of paper towels and dish soap. We would stay there again!”

“The outside of the house looks great, with the exception of the drip outside the sliding door. It had goop all over it. The inside needs a lot of work….Ceilings are peeling, couch had a hole, throw pillows are dirty, rugs were dirty, fake plant had dust all over it, hole in closet was filled with spray foam, 3rd bedroom doesn’t have a window unit and it’s HOT, baseboards were dirty, middle bathroom needs an exhaust fan versus a fan, the kitchen had leftover food/dog food and wasn’t properly stocked with things we needed like storage bowls. We had to get creative. There were brand new places close by that we could’ve gotten for around the same price. We won’t rent this place again.”

“We had a wonderful vacation ! Peaceful and quiet , pool close by for the kids . Ambiance was amazing . I would sit under tiki hut and just gaze at the canal and birds .”
“This was the perfect getaway for me and my family! The house was comfortable to be in and spacious enough for everyone. The back patio area is a beautiful spot to hang out, eat, drink, park our boat, and relax! I hope next visit to the keys this home is available. “Our stay was fantastic. Mary was very helpful. The house was super clean. The pool table was nice for the evening wind down. We saw a manatee in the canal (inlets) right behind the house. We rented a boat and was able to dock it there which was wonderful for a nice evening cruise. There are several places to cruise up to in your boat for lunch and dinner. Saw a couple dolphins. Such a beautiful area to visit. We truly appreciate having great communication with our host. We loved it! One of our favorite stays!!”
