“This was the perfect little diamond on the rough. You would never think that it could be so perfect. The bathrooms were spotless. The huts were just right and had everything we needed to keep us from having to pack up all our camping gear. Everything we needed was onsite. Plus the added bonus of the on-site trails to add to our day and tire our pup out.”

“Such a beautiful and tranquil camp. The meadow and trails are so nice. The cabin and bathrooms were clean. Great stay! Everything you could have needed for your stay. The town lost power due to a bad accident and the local contact came to check on us and even gave us cookies for our trouble! We had no idea because we were sitting by the campfire relaxing and enjoying the scenery. ☺️
We will be back!

“Excellent stay, exactly as represented. Dan has thought of everything one could want while still keeping it a camping experience.
I would highly recommend the glamping huts to anyone interested in camping in Garrett County.
One notable plus is the limited number of cabins which gives campers more privacy and a better connection to the woods.”

“Our family loved our stay at Wild Yough. Everything was clean and efficient. There were many thoughtful touches to the cabin and the shared bath house/pavilion that made our stay very comfortable and fun. Plus we loved being close to Herrington Manor, Swallow Falls, the rock maze, etc. Thumbs up from all the humans and paws up from our dog who was happy he got to come on vacation with us!”

“Very clean, secluded, woodsy, quiet, and minimalist. Great location very close to a handful of good hikes and kayaking, and only 15 minutes to the restaurants in deep creek. The huts do not have outlets or electric but there are hanging battery operated lamps and there is a charging station in the bath house. Our hut was advertised as having two double beds, but it actually only had one double bed and a very uncomfortable mini sleeper sofa that folds down flat that you can sleep on. An ikea futon looking thing is not a bed and shouldn’t be advertised as one. They also tell you the day before to bring your own towels and linens, which is fine but just fyi. We had to call the off hours maintenance line due to the water in the bathhouse not working, and they had a guy there quickly and it fixed within 20 minutes. Overall, might stay here again, but would pack an air mattress if I’m going with someone where I’d prefer to sleep in separate beds. Honestly it would’ve been perfect for a minimalist couples getaway. It really is the perfect location.”

It's like camping but with a real bed and not having to pack a tent, sleeping bags, cooking gear etc. The bathhouse is especially nice and always very clean. “I would absolutely book again! I love being in nature, but I also like to have adequate shelter when necessary - this was the perfect combination! The bathroom accommodations were fantastic, the surrounding area was beautiful, and it’s not too far from the town or the lake! And, if you bring your dogs, there’s a dog park very close by. There’s plenty of state parks and trails within walking, and short driving distances (one of which has its own lake). The entire experience was perfect for a quick getaway from normal life!”

The 300+ acres were perfect for exploring with our dogs. Gorgeous views everywhere we went. It’s hard finding a place we can share with them and it was wonderful knowing how welcoming they were. “My husband and I had a great time spending Labor Day weekend experiencing our first glamping experience. We wanted to go camping but also have somewhere dry in case it rained, and this was a neat spot! It is located not far from town in case you need to grab food/supplies and also has great state parks and waterfalls nearby. We wish we could have had more time to explore and will definitely visit the area again! Do make sure you bring your own towels and linens/sleeping bags. Dan and the management company were very easy to get in touch with and quick to respond. We also had great neighbors who were close but far enough away to maintain privacy. This was a fun alternative to camping since we didn't have to fuss with a tent or weather forecasts.”

“The glamping campgrounds were an excellent place to stay for a quiet night out in the woods. Me and my fiancé loved the coziness of the cabin and the friendliness of the local residents of Oakland MD. The only thing we highly recommend to others is to give yourself time to arrive in the daytime as we made the unfortunate mistake of looking for the campgrounds after dark (which was mildly terrifying since we didn’t know the area.) Fortunately the directions provided were easy to follow and we made it to the cabin safely. It’s really close to many of the local parks and downtown Oakland. There’s also a pretty cool trail right on the glamping grounds for you to explore. Also as a side note, we recommend others to bring a lantern or some kind of lighting for the cabin because we assumed there would be some provided, maybe it was just our cabin but flashlights did the trick for us and this didn’t hinder the experience at all and we would definitely come back. Especially for the value.”

“Delta was such a beautiful cabin! We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. In my opinion, Delta had the best view. The porch looked out over the forest and was also conveniently located right by the bath pavilion. We loved all the outdoor space and enjoyed yoga in the pavilion. “Our stay in Delta was immaculate inside and we loved the details from the curtains to the bed spread and matching pillow, they truly take care and pride in their huts and on their grounds. Both days we enjoyed the trails and got all the way to the river. Zeus was in doggie heaven hiking all around! We enjoyed the pavillion with the other family as it was nice to have all those games and entertainment and especially the darts! We were impressed of how the whole property sustained itself - solar powered landscape lights, auto-off timer lights in the pavilion, and auto-off water faucets with hot water for showers. Each cabin is equipped with everything you need: for cooking, had at least two lamps, a fire pit, and picnic table. The showers were clean and there was enough supply of toilet paper and hand soap. The women's bathroom even has a hair dryer!
There is a lot of land to explore in and outside the property, with Herrington and Swallow Falls state parks nearby. There was good reception for AT&T but not Tmobile, but the town is just a 15-minute drive away if you badly need reception or wifi.
Some tips: do follow the directions given by Offlake Rentals vs. the GPS because it was a shorter and easier route to remember. Based on the other reviews, we brought our own linen, pillow cases and blankets - and I'm happy we did. Although pillows and some blankets were provided, we didn't find them the cleanest.
Overall, we had a great time and we're definitely coming back.”

“The Glamping hut I rented (as well as the management) beyond exceeded my expectations. The hut was immaculate and all of the extra cooking equipment, camping chairs, 2 complementary propane tanks, etc made it easy to pack light and so cozy. I truly could have not imagined a better experience! The bathhouse was clean as a whistle as well. I will DEFINITELY be returning in the spring. Thanks for such a great experience!”

“Dan was a great host, made sure I was fully informed well before the trip. He responded right away to any questions I had. This was a great location, less than a mile from a state park with hiking and kayaking. The restaurants and attractions are within a @ 20 minute drive. Great experience, my wife and I loved it.”

“It wasn't clear to us , and maybe we did not read the small characters on the script well enough, that there was no electricity except for the area where the showers, bathroom, kitchen were located. We could live with that. We could make tea and coffee in the morning on the butane stove and the light we had was more than enough to illuminate the cabin. The thing that threw us a bit for a loop was that there were no sheets. Accustomed as we are to AirBnB's apartments/homes, we assumed the bed was ready and had no idea we had to bring our own. Fortunately, local friends lent us their own and the impasse was overcome. The one thing I'd suggest, as a newcomer to glamping for other possible newbies like me, is that you underscore that people should expect no such amenities like bed sheets, electricity and running water and that this setting is no different than camping, except that the "tent" is already there. The rest was fabulous: the cabin is pristine and so are the bathroom and showers. The location is superb and we enjoyed it greatly and loved the complete nature immersion. Privacy was not an issue: the next cabin is about 300 feet away and at one point we saw who was there and waved Hi, but couldn't even hear them chat. Surprise aside, we would definitely come back.”

“This camping site and hut exceeded our expectations. It was an amazing getaway from the city and the perfect introduction for my first camping experience. The hut fulfilled all my childhood imaginations of what being out in the woods could mean. Great experience.”
