“We had the best glamping weekend! The cabin was beautiful, cozy, and incredibly peaceful. Everything was thoughtfully maintained, and the quiet surroundings made it the perfect place to relax, unwind, and reconnect. It truly felt like a little escape from everyday life while still having all the comforts we needed. We didn’t want to leave and are already looking forward to coming back! Highly recommend this getaway! ❤️🌲✨”

“We LOVED staying here! It was a gorgeous spot. The cabin was adorable and perfect for two people and a dog! It even had a propane stove for easy cooking. There is a big pavilion and bathroom just a short walk down the loop. Bathrooms were nice, clean, had good showers, and felt luxurious as someone who is used to staying at state parks. There were so many extra little details that went above and beyond - like lotion in the bathrooms, extra cooking gear and utensils to borrow if you forgot anything, etc etc. There are also private trails as part of this spot! We took the hike to the river, which was gorgeous, quiet, and peaceful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Also it would be super fun to stay with a group - a family reunion would be perfect here, as the pavilion is a great "common area" with picnic tables, rocking chairs, board games, a big grill, and a fire place.”

“Absolutely amazing time staying at Dan's place. It was me, my boyfriend Mike and his German Shepherd dog in the cabin. Cabin was cozy with great airflow and the bed was very comfortable. We hiked some of the trails on the property which are well maintained. Pavilion area with grills, frig and coffee maker were a very nice addition to camping. Bathrooms with showers along with a charging station for your phone. Bathrooms were big & exceptionally clean. We also loved the fire ring and camp chairs provided at our cabin. We have nothing but great things to say about this place. It was an amazing long weekend and we have so many great memories from our stay here. Very close to Herrington Manor and Swallow Falls State Park. We definitely want to come back and stay for at least a week!
Thank you for thinking of everything you might need on a camping trip!”

“Dan’s place was well kept! A good option for camping with some amenities. Bathrooms were very clean.
We just happened to visiting on a very cold weekend and thought there would be more heating options. There is a little propane space heater that helped and the warm water bottles to put under the covers helps on a cold night as well.”

“Such a nice place. This was a great way to camp. The property is lovely and well taken care of. The cabins are so well made and cozy!! We were impressed by the pavilion and bath house! The bathrooms were so nice and clean. Lots to do at the pavilion; they really thought of so many touches to make it a great getaway! Communication was incredible. Very clear instructions and messages while booking and during our stay. Someone is always available if you need anything- which we didn’t need anything because it was so organized!! The fire pit, hammock and picnic table at our cabin were perfect. The lantern they had charging for us was so helpful and bright! We brought most of our own gear, but they provide so much to use. Sinks, soap and dish drying racks at the pavilion were amazing!! Thanks for creating such a special place in nature and sharing it with us!”

“We had a great stay this weekend! The cabin had everything we needed and more! The bath house was extremely nice and one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen! There was so much to explore and we can’t wait to come back and see it all!”

“I cannot say enough good things about The Glamping Huts! First, Dan's communication was top notch! Second, these huts are ADORABLE! Small and perfect! The sites are fantastic and the attention to detail both in the huts, outside the huts, on the grounds, in the bathhouse and that whole pavilion are very impressive. And the cleanliness! It's hard to accomplish that level when you're in the woods! Hearing the locusts, owls and frogs chirping all night and watching the chipmunks run around all day was truly a delight. There are sites to see nearby but we didn't feel the need to leave the grounds! This will be an annual trip without a doubt! 5 Stars!!”

“This cabin was perfect for our little family. We had everything we needed for a fun getaway for a few days, both in the cabin and around the property. The pavilion had a nice selection of toys, games and books. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. The property was huge! We hiked out to the river, had a picnic and swim then hiked back. It was an all day adventure! We cooked on the fire and enjoyed a variety of wildlife just steps from our cabin door. We will definitely visit again!”

“Been to lots of different campgrounds. This is the camping experience without having to pack ALL the things. This property is beautiful with trails, fields, benches and a really great star gazing spot. It’s very well kept, clean bathrooms and cabins and while the bed was pretty squeaky, it wasn’t a deal breaker as everything else was so great. Owls provide white noise at night and chipmunks and deer are cool to spot if your dogs aren’t trying to chase and eat them. Perfect location to parks, waterfalls, trails, town and restaurants. Lots of activities. We didn’t have time to do all the things we wanted to so the next stay will have to be longer. Highly recommended.”

“We visited during a cold and rainy spring weekend and still had a wonderful time. The property is great, with easy access to the river. The cabins are well kept and snug and had everything we needed.
Most importantly, the owners went out of their way to make sure we were well cared for. Beth came around each evening to fill our hot water bottles and she even lent me her Northface gloves for the weekend.
We definitely plan to return!”

“The cabin is a great size for a small family or a couple. It's cute and cozy! It was very clean as well. The only down side was the small windows. The air flow wasn't great and it was dark even in the middle of the day. Make sure to pack extra lanterns. The location was perfect! Absolutely beautiful. At night you can see every star. The bathrooms were spacious and nice looking but not well maintained. They were often out of toilet paper and they weren't cleaned. There was one really gross toilet that stayed that way all 4 days we were there. The pavilion area was great! Lots of activities. My kids had a blast! We took lots of hikes and visited the waterfalls which were right around the corner. I would highly recommend glamping to any of my friends. It was a definite upgrade over tent camping. Can't wait to go back!”

“We LOVED the beautiful property and how the huts were spaced just the right distance away from other campers. The hut was clean and literally had everything you could possibly need, from pots and pans to playing cards. (Bring your own towels and linens) Great pavillion w restrooms and showers, also had a firepit/charging station(good luck getting a signal lol)/campground games. If you have noticed, cell service in the area is pretty non existent... so if you bring any devices I would recommend downloading what you wanna watch beforehand. Also, Numerous trails in extremely dense wilderness to hike thru and plenty of dead fall to build your campfire. Lastly, do yourself a favor and visit Swallow Falls State Park (they charge $3 for residents and $5 non residents) but I assure you it is worth it, especially if you like waterfalls/hiking/swimming/body rafting thru little rapids lol. So much fun! Will be back!”

“My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Wild Yough over a long weekend with our dog. The cabin was very nice, with a table + chairs, couch, full size bed, and small kitchen area. Didn't feel too cramped, even when rain forced us inside. Cabins were far enough apart that you still felt isolated even when all cabins were filled.
Access to the pavilion was a great feature. Sinks to wash our dishes, and clean bathroom and showers with hot water. Plus a nice big porch to sit on rocking chairs and watch deer feed in a meadow.
Trails were generally easy and well maintained. Our original plan was to drive to local parks for some hiking, but we ended up staying on site the entire weekend -- there was plenty for us and our dog to explore.
A note about river access: as of early July 2019 access to the river was more difficult/limited then expected. Otter point was very overgrown with ferns, to the point that the trail has been partially blocked. Additionally, the bridge of Herrington Manor Creek has been partially washed out (boards missing). Was stable enough for us to cross, but the less adventurous would be turned off.
That does not deter me from giving Wild Yough a full five stars. It's a perfect place to get away from the world and spend some time outdoors, but still keep some amenities, like hot water showers and a roof over your head. We absolutely want to go back.”

“This was an amazing trip! A bit further then I expected because when I put in “Oakland, md” GPS shows that it is about 1.45 hours away, but when I got the address it was about 3 hours away (not sure why that is). But by far the best camp site I’ve been to. This area was clean (and I mean clean!), a well kept area, and pretty private with the trees dividing the buildings. They set out a water bowel and left treats for my dog which I though was so sweet. They have every thing that you would need in the hut. The area was great! Near a town so you could pick up more ice and near so many trails and areas of nature to explore! We even went kayaking for the first time! I honestly would of extended my stay if I could have. The hosts were accommodating and allowed me to adjust my stay and answered all my questions. I would love to stay here again! Thank you for a great trip!”

“We rented out 3 cabins with our group of 6, and all of us couldn't stop talking about the place the entire time. It exceeded everyone's expectations. Everything is spotless, and provides the perfect balance between traditional camping and convenience. We felt comfortable and secluded all weekend, and it's an easy distance from anything you'd want to do in the area. My only regret is that I booked all the reservations myself - the other 2 couples would have loved to leave all 5 star reviews too!”

“What a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing weekend! We enjoyed having the comfort of a bed and a propane stove, but loved feeling as though we were tucked far off in the woods. The number of cabins and the space between them ensure plenty of privacy. We were appreciative of the fire starters provided, as it had been a damp week in the area. It was nice being so close to Herrington Manor and Swallow Falls state parks, but also within easy distance of Deep Creek Lake. Most of all we appreciated being able to bring our dog along for the weekend! We will most definitely be back!”

“The wife, kids, and I had a great time here. There was one small issue and it was spiders. I'm not to found of them. There were one too many for me to sleep comfortably, lucky for me, my wife went ahead and cleared them out. Unfortunately we missed a deep cleaning of the hut by one day. Other than that, the place was amazing and calming. I will be coming back, but this time in the fall!!!”

“We (four adults) spent the weekend here for my husband's birthday. The hut was incredibly clean, and everything seemed new and nice. Both beds were comfortable, and all the kitchen gear you could need was provided. If something wasn't in the hut, then it was down in the pavilion. The bathroom facilities were very clean and all the other guests were quiet and friendly. We were very impressed by all the amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our evenings around the fire. It was the perfect balance for me (has done minimal camping) and my husband (loves camping). We look forward to staying here again in the future. Dan was very responsive to any questions and everything was well communicated.”

“We had a perfect weekend away with our small dog. Very dog friendly place, safe, beautiful property. If you want a weekend in the woods without having to pack up an entire campsite, this is the place. Bonus pavilion with charging stations and super clean (and hot) showers!”

“The Glamping grounds 'rock' as there is so much privacy yet the convenience of a bathhouse very nearby. It was nice having the property manager through daily to ensure we were taken care of and they kept the bathhouse stocked. Definitely a MUST STAY if you have an interest in the Deep Creek area without the Deep Creek pricing! A good night's sleep while listening to the 'nothingness' of nature! It ROCKS!”

“My husband and I have been coming to Deep Creek every few years since we first got married thirteen years ago so its always been filled with happy memories for us–and now we have a whole new set. Dan & Beth's glamping huts and campground have just enough of everything to make camping easy and stress-free– and pair it with peace, tranquility and the small, delightful surprises that make a getaway special. Tea and coffee on the front porch of the hut listening to the sounds of the forest, finding our first toad (he was so squat and handsome- just don't see those in suburbia), translating the signs from the owners travels in the pavilion, and watching the stars come out one by one across the meadow were just a few. The trails are well maintained and easy to hike even for a slightly out of shape graphic designer and the diversity of plants in the forest was eye-opening. There are no words for watching a river as beautiful as the Youghiogheny go by with no one else in sight (just why do I go to work again? It was a little hard to remember.) I loved the notes left here and there - that answered my never-ending questions and curiosity. And, I only wish we were traveling with children because there were so many games to choose from in the pavilion and our dog was too busy sniffing EVERYTHING to be interested in playing. Everyone we met couldn't be nicer--thank you so much for a wonderful trip!”

“We absolutely loved our stay in Ardennen. It was just what our family needed. We loved all the added touches from the puck light holders to the family fun activity in the pavilion. We hiked over 3 miles on the trails and saw several deer. We loved the location and took advantage of visiting Herrington Manor State Park and Swallow Falls. We loved the sights! Thanks for going above and beyond to ensure the glampground was clean and stocked. It shows you take pride in your little piece of heaven in Garrett County MD!”

“This was a perfect spot for a weekend getaway! My boyfriend and I loved the remote access but also the drive to the nearest Walmart was less than 20 minutes away. Great place to have a relaxing weekend with no distractions and plenty of personal time with your choice of company and nature! Our pup loved the cabin and the whole nature scene as well, defiantly just a nice spot to check out! The trails were also very peaceful and beautiful. Thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to stay at your glamping hut Dan!”

“This space is awesome. Extremely clean and has more than the basic camping necessities! My ten year old Irish Setter loved the cabin and walking around the woods. Definitely coming back!!”

“First, there were 3 of us who stayed and all have provided our reviews:
Mine!: Our Stay at Ardeneen was awesome. The hut was cozy yet roomy for 3 people. We arrived at night put the lantern and puc light ( oh and battery-powered candles) helped us settle in before we went to the Walmart (30 minutes out) to get more flashlights and clean supplies. Everything was provided like cooking utensils and bedding however the cleanliness of both are about a 5/6 rating. We were missing some items like TP, and paper towel. It seems like the guests before the stay are responsible for cleanliness. After cleaning, it felt like home though! Was very peaceful and the huts are a comfortable distance apart. The bathhouse was much more than expected though the hot water was our only option to bathe in, it was private and spacious. The Glamping experience was awesome and there are so many things to do! It's still camping so something is better than nothing. We left some Obay, fresh seasonings, paper plates, cups, and a very clean hut for the next guests in our vacay home lol. We plan to visit again. Thanks Dan!
Sam: The weekend at Ardennen was awesome! Very quaint cabin and the surrounding area, though spaced out, embodied a neighborly vibe. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the utensils. There was food caked on from previous campers. Also a few supplies like toilet paper and salt were missing. Otherwise the cabin was everything we needed for the camping experience and felt like home once we settled in. The bathhouses were clean and very straightforward, definitely more than what I expected. I loved the showers however, there was a shortage of cold water. Nothing drastic though. Overall the glamping experience felt like a nice retreat in nature which was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Dan!
Quay: Our weekend stay at Ardennen was a tranquil experience, albeit after, a very thorough sweeping and washing of utensils(that still had food caked on them). Great escape from the city. Will definitely book again.”

“Fantastic weekend at Ardennen. Lovely setting; perfect little cabin. Comments about road noise from a few other guests are baffling. We heard a handful of cars go by over the course of 2.5 days. It's extremely peaceful and quiet and the road wasn't at all an issue for us.

Cabin is just the right size and has a great vibe. Love the little overhead light you move from clip to clip. So smart, so simple. Picnic table, fire ring, camp chairs, covered porch - the outside space is as nice and as thoughtfully provisioned as the inside. And the bathroom facilities are first-class. One note for guests: ask for the substantial list of what's provided. We found the list on-site, after we arrived and long after it was too late to bring a few key things and filled our car with many more we didn't need. Not a big deal and the Family Dollar in Oakland was our savior, but who wants to shop when you came to get away from all that?

We loved this little campground and can't wait to return. No electricity, no internet, crappy cell reception. PERFECT. D”

“Overpriced hut in the woods. The place itself is okay. One can see and read that the owners love their place and tries to pass it on. Especially the common area is very pleasant and inviting. The camping hut itself is underwhelming. I like some of the attention to detail. The "kitchen" is a collection of cutlery and a two plate gas stove. The huts are close to the road and to me it was disturbing to have the regular noise of the road intruding into the camping experience. The walks are pleasant though short.”

“My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the glamping huts! The cabins were spacious and cute inside. The bathhouse had a lot of character to it and was clean and accommodating to our needs. We also really enjoyed all of the trails on the grounds. Our dog loved running through the woods and exploring! There was a lot of poison ivy in the woods but it was this way everywhere you went including the state parks. There were other people staying at the site but noise was never an issue. We will be returning again! Thanks Dan!”

“The camp site was lovely. The woods were peaceful and well taken care of with plenty of space between each cabin to feel private and secluded. We found much inspiration here! Thanks Dan!”
