About this place

Step back in time without sacrificing modern comfort at this breathtaking 1900 Victorian estate in historic Natchez, Mississippi. Gather all eight guests around the indoor fireplace after a day of exploring the city's legendary antebellum heritage, then wake refreshed and ready for another unforgettable Southern adventure. Welcome to the Mose Beer House, one of Natchez, Mississippi's beautiful and historic grand Victorians! The home was originally completed in 1900. It has 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 12-foot ceilings, inlaid parquet wood flooring, among other architectural aspects. It has large porches, a well-appointed kitchen including double ovens, a front parlor, a bar room, a formal dining room, and a window-wrapped sun room with an adjacent screened-in porch, all decorated with beautiful antiques. Like many historic homes, this one is quirky. If you're looking for perfection, this is not the house for you. If you're looking for "Natchez perfect," you'll love it. The house evolved since 1900 into what it is today. A few things to note: * The King Suite (primary bedroom) & the Prince Suite have their own bathrooms. * The Queen Room (across from the King Suite) & the Princess Room share a half bath at the very end of the hall closet, but, for bathing, their three-quarter bathroom is actually downstairs, off of the dining room. Unusual & quirky? Yes! * Because the air conditioning units are residential and not commercial, we protect them by limiting the minimum cooling temperature. Past guests have set the temperature far below generally accepted norms, well below 70º. The units would never achieve those temperatures in the Mississippi heat and they've frozen up, resulting in no further air conditioning for days and costly repairs. Thanks for understanding. If you prefer inside temperatures lower than this, please do not book with us. * The shower in the downstairs bathroom takes literally up to five minutes to get warm water to it. It's far from the hot water heater. Please be patient! * All TVs have their own remote; please keep each remote with its paired TV. All TVs have many popular streaming apps. Make sure to sign out of them before you leave! * If you hear no sound from the Sun Room TV, simply press the volume up button on the remote; that wakes up the soundbar. * The kitchen TV has its own soundbar with a separate remote. * The kitchen has a garbage can & a recycle bin in the cupboards at the end of the island. Garbage is on the left, recycling, on the right. Natchez doesn't recycle any glass, unfortunately. * Garbage barrels are kept in the carport in case you need to empty any garbage cans in the house. The blue one is recycling & the green one is regular garbage. * If you want additional lighting on the Sun Porch, plug in the lights at the plug next to the right of the extra fridge. * There is an additional toilet in the laundry room, which is just off the door by the kitchen refrigerator leading to the back deck. Again, quirky! You have access to the entire property except the Carriage House at the bottom of the driveway, which is a separate rental unit. Please keep the driveway clear for Carriage House guests. It's just a two-minute walk to Natchez Bluff Park on the 200-foot tall Natchez Bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. Perfect for concerts, the Balloon Festival, and more. Experience Natchez here!

“When they describe this house as quirky, believe them! The "half bath" that two of the bedrooms share upstairs is so small it can hardly be called a half bath. Be aware that all bedrooms are upstairs. the stairs are pretty steep. Once you get settled in then it is fine. Something in the house set my allergies off big-time, however it could have just been the plants blooming in and around Natchez. We had 6 adults all over the age of 67 and the bathroom situation for the third room upstairs was hard to deal with. And I feel that when you pay this much a night then you shouldn't have to strip the beds and bring all towels & sheets used down the steep stairs.”

“We stayed for one night during a family road trip through Natchez and were genuinely impressed. The Victorian house has a beautiful, unique character that really stands out and makes the stay feel special. Everything was clean, well organized, and very comfortable.
The neighborhood felt quiet and safe, which made it even more enjoyable. Overall, it was absolutely worth the money, and we would definitely recommend staying here if you appreciate a historic home with charm and attention to detail.
Kim was a great host and made everything easy for us :)”

“The house is located near downtown, which was very convenient, but on a quiet street in a lovely neighborhood. It is very roomy and comfortable. The hosts dealt with an unforeseen problem that cropped up, keeping us informed and making sure we had what we needed. It’s a great choice if you are looking for an antebellum experience.”
