Other things to note In the fall of 2024, the Lake Lure area was impacted by Hurricane Helene, and restoration efforts have been ongoing throughout the region. While our cabin and the Riverbend community are open and welcoming guests, please note that the main Lake Lure lake is undergoing restoration and is currently planned to reopen May 1, 2026. Guests still enjoy peaceful surroundings, mountain access, and private access to Hickory Nut Lake within Riverbend for swimming, kayaking, and paddle-boarding. “Our young family of 5 stayed here for a weekend trip and it was great. The cabin appeared to be recently remodeled with a very homey feeling and exceptionally clean. It was easy to find and perfect location for Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Even better, there is an ice cream shop at the bottom of the driveway. The Riverbend Community access is a huge plus, especially with the beach. It’s practically your own little “Lake Lure” and was perfect for the kids to go play at. The hosts were very good at communicating and we had no questions during our stay. We’ll definitely be back to stay here in the future.”

Everything we needed for just 2 days. We even got to see the deer grazing, early morning, as others in reviews had reported. The area has plenty to do — hiking, lake life, and Chimney Rock State Park. “The 828” and “The Lake House” had great food and friendly service. We look forward to visiting the area again!”

“It's a beautiful cabin, just off the road. We didn't use most of the amenities, but it was comfortable, clean, and we even saw some wildlife with deer in the front yard, just chilling. I don't usually choose a pet friendly place, but to my surprise, I couldn't tell that any animals had ever been there. We love animals, but I've been to places before that were pet friendly and you could tell. So, don't let that deter you from booking. There was a great coffee shop not to far away called Grey Hawk...yummy. Highly recommend.”

“Shayla and Anthony were wonderful hosts! They were very friendly, accommodating, and quick to respond whenever we had a question or needed assistance. The cabin was beautiful and looked exactly like the photos. They also provided great recommendations for things to do in the area, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Their check-in and check-out instructions were clear and very reasonable. During our stay, the power went out unexpectedly, but they responded immediately and had the issue resolved within 20 minutes. They even provided a partial reimbursement for the inconvenience, which we thought was a very thoughtful gesture and showed how much they cared about their guests’ experience. We truly appreciated their hospitality and would absolutely recommend staying with them!”
