Escape to Sweet Ginger Cottage, a storybook tiny house retreat nestled along the wooded shores of Canyon Lake in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. With private lake access, a shared patio, and a serene creekside setting halfway between Austin and San Antonio, this is the peaceful Hill Country getaway you have been dreaming of. Sweet Ginger Cottage is a charming tiny house tucked into a quiet country neighborhood in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Perfectly situated halfway between Austin and San Antonio, it’s just a short drive to Wimberley, New Braunfels, Gruene, and San Marcos. The cottage sits on the north side of Canyon Lake on a scenic, wooded lot, with a peaceful dry creek bordering the back of the property—ideal for relaxing and soaking in the Hill Country atmosphere. The space Sleeping spaces include a queen-size bed in the bedroom and a queen-size bed in the sleeper sofa. 2 Beautiful decks along with a small fire pit as well as another larger firepit area by the dry creek. There are 2 charcoal grills available for use. These areas will be shared spaces with the other tiny house that is located on the property next door. Guest access Plenty of parking in front of the house. Other things to note If you see a date that is not available, let me know. Sometimes I can free it up if it’s not rented out. There is a fire pit in the back of the property for use. Be sure to bring your own firewood and do not use wood on the property. Please be careful and keep the fire within the container. Not liable for any accidents. There is a light switch on the tree next the deck between the houses for overhead lighting. Late checkout is $25/hour if available. Smoking inside will result in a $300 fine.

“Phyllis was very responsive to our questions, even before booking. The location was very convenient, and the drive to park was very spacious between the two houses. The bed was very comfortable, with smart TV to watch whatever streaming services you have, and shower ran very well. Tiny home as advertised but layout was easy to move around. We booked to launch out of Canyon Lake and the drive to Ramp 18 inside of Canyon Park was very close.”

“My husband and I wanted to get away at the last minute for Valentine's Day and he thought of Canyon Lake because of the way I raved about my stay there previously in the other tiny house. Fortunately, this house was available upon my late evening search and I booked immediately. The response was quick and we were on our way from Austin. Just like the other tiny house, this one was very welcoming and clean. We now have both tiny houses on our list first when we come back to Canyon Lake. Phyllis, thanks and God bless!”

It has breath taking views and I feel like there's always something to do around that area or the surrounding towns. The host was quick to respond to any questions I had! “The porch in the backyard is amazing. It’s raised above the riverbank area and you can watch wildlife! There’s a cute little fox that runs around down there at night, if you’re quiet. Great flashlight for seeing them under kitchen sink! Also the hike to the river is really nice and pretty private. Had a great time with the pup. The cabin is very cutsey💕”

“This was a great place to stay for a last minute mother daughter trip with my 3 dogs. It was exactly what we were looking for especially last minute and it being the last weekend before school starts.
Phyllis was amazing by sending local maps with please of details of where to go/what you can expect. I have never had a host send me all the information before so it was very much appreciated!

There was a whole list of places to eat and things to do in the area and we had good experiences at each recommendation we checked out. The area is very peaceful and beautiful. The place itself was perfect for 2 of us for a few days and it had everything we needed and more. There were several bathroom items, towels, kitchen appliances, kitchen supplies, blankets, etc. that she didn’t need to supply but still did, which definitely stood out to us! The porch and outdoor areas were a great option to have even though we didn’t use them much. Overall our stay was great and we would stay here again if we are ever in the area!”

“This cute cabin is the perfect place for a getaway. I use this for a staycation and had no issues cooking my meals or getting my workouts in with a nice 24 hour gym nearby. I would definitely recommend and look forward to staying again in the future”

“It was a really nice and cozy home. Host thought of mostly everything.
The only negative/con was that there were no lights on the trees as sown on pictures. Not adequate back outdoor lighting making it to dark to spend time outdoors on the patio out back after dark.
Which was the main reason I chose this location to spend lots of cozy night outdoors. Also after booking it was disclosed that the patios are shared with the other property and no refundable cancellations .
Also the pictures don't really show how close you actually are to another tiny home on the same property.
One more suggestion, stick to her recommendations for dining.
We found one La Pasadita that wasn't on her list and we quickly found out why, food and service were terrible.
We would definitely stay there again. We would just be prepared with our own outdoor lighting.”

“This place is so great! We had a total of four people here and nothing was too crowded or too small it had just the right amount of space. The kitchen and the bathroom had all the necessities and the in unit washer and dryer was a cool addition. The sofa bed is actually really comfortable and was a fan favorite for the weekend. The house feels secluded but still apart of the neighborhood at the same time we didn’t have anyone next door while we were there but it has enough outdoor space where that wouldn’t have been a problem anyway. The deck with the outdoor furniture was a great place for relaxing in the shade in the afternoon and settling up next to a fire at night. Definitely would come here again!”
