Escape to Poppy Seed Cottage, a storybook tiny house retreat tucked into the wooded hills of Canyon Lake, Texas. This intimate couples hideaway blends French country charm with modern comforts, featuring a private entrance, relaxing patio, and seamless wifi access amid the serene Texas Hill Country landscape. Poppy Seed Cottage is a charming tiny house nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Perfectly located halfway between Austin and San Antonio, it’s just a short drive to Wimberley, New Braunfels, Gruene, and San Marcos. This cozy retreat is ideal for a couples’ weekend getaway, featuring French country style, a plush, comfortable bed. The cottage sits in a cute country neighborhood on the north side of Canyon Lake, surrounded by a scenic, wooded lot with a peaceful dry creek. The space This cottage is next door to Sweet Ginger Cottage, another cottage that is rented on Airbnb. They can be rented together to allow more space for family and friends. There are 3 shared spaces with firepit areas, deck, and barbecue area. Guest access There are 2 nice decks, 2 firepits, and 2 charcoal grills on the property. Other things to note If you see a date that is not available, let me know. Sometimes I can free it up if it’s not rented out. There is a fire pit in the back of the property for use. Be sure to bring your own firewood and do not use wood on the property. Please be careful and keep the fire within the container. Not liable for any accidents. There is a light switch on the tree next the deck between the houses for overhead lighting. Late checkout is $25/hour if available. Smoking inside will result in a $300 fine.

“Great stay! The cottage is very clean, cozy, and welcoming. What really stood out was how well stocked everything was. She truly thought of everything, so if you forget something chances are it’s already there. It made it feel just like home.
We also loved having access to a washer and dryer, plenty of towels and all the basic necessities provided.
Parking is shared, but we were able to make it work just fine.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend!”

“This tiny house was perfect for two people. Unfortunately, the lake and the Guadalupe River were low due to lack of rain, but that didn’t stop us from venturing into the river. The positive was that the tiny house was very close to hiking, the lake, and the river. Beautiful surroundings. Even went for a run in the neighborhood. Quiet area. Close to several drivable restaurants. Phyllis even leaves recommendations for local things to do/eat. We also were close to Guene. Overall, this was a great little 4 day get away. Enjoyed our stay! Would love to come back again.”

“I was in search of a place that I could go to for some alone-time. This place popped up on the first page of my search and, of course, I couldn't pass up the price. It was so cute and clean! Perfect for one person even though it is called a Couple's Cottage. I was amused that it didn't have an oven and only two stove burners, but I hadn't planned to cook anyway. Laying in the bed and binge-watching a few of my favorite shows was my achieved goal. I am looking forward to my next getaway, and this will be the first place that I look for!”

“First the positive: The location is great, peaceful and quiet. The bed was very comfortable (which is important) and the home was easy to keep cool during our entire stay. Phyllis always responded to our texts.
Now the negative: The coffee amenities were outdated. Coffee creamer coagulated as soon as it was poured and the coffee itself tasted old. We found powdered sugar in the cabinet but had to break it up because it was caked solid. Even though the rental description stated "no pets" we found what appeared to be dog hair inside the door of the minifridge. It also looked like someone had spilled something on the bottom shelf of the fridge but had not been cleaned up.
The negatives are not "deal killers" should we visit the area in the future. We liked the home but it appears whomever the owner has cleaning and prepping the home for them isn't doing a very good job. Would we stay again? Absolutely. Price, location, and general accommodations worked out great for us.”

“Our stay was great everything was awesome, but there was only one thing that really made it not worth staying. The AC inside was not getting the air bnb even cool. We had the ceiling fan on fool blast and started from 68 Fahrenheit to 64 Fahrenheit and nothing seemed to change in temperature. Only complaint was sweating all through the night. Had to sleep with no comforter, just sheets.”

It was only 11 minutes from the venue, and, despite its small size, it truly had everything you could need. The space was utilized really well, and it never felt cramped.
