Charming bedroom/suite with private entrance, attached bathroom and walk-in closet in a home near downtown, Buffalo Bayou, and Memorial Park with a queen-size bed, sitting area, wall-mounted smart TV and dedicated work space with WiFi. Located a couple of blocks from Washington Ave and Shepherd Drive we’re close to virtually everything: the Heights, Montrose, the Medical Center, the Galleria. Guests access the room through the yard and let themselves in with a keypad lock. Street parking. The space This house is located in a gated community of 5 homes just a few blocks away from the Washington Avenue Corridor. Guest access Please note that this listing is for a private room with en-suite bathroom, not an entire house. Guests will have access to the room, private attached bathroom, and large walk-in closet as well as the small backyard which is used to enter the room. Guests will not have access to the remainder of the house, which is occupied by the owners. During your stay Interactions will be minimal to non-existent unless a guest needs me for something. I’m retired so I’m home a fair amount but I’m also pretty quiet. Other things to note • NO SMOKING 🚭 • Parking in the West End can be challenging. To make things easier, I highly recommend considering the convenience of Uber or Lyft, especially if you're planning a night out. Do not leave valuables in your vehicle. “I had a great time at Ann’s listing. I was able to check in easily and make myself feel at home for the weekend. The only thing I would be mindful of when booking is the parking situation. If you’re not comfortable with street parking, you might want to look into another option. However, this place was in a great spot of town and I never worried leaving my car on the street.
The place was cute, comfy, and very stocked with the necessities. I’d love to consider staying here again the next time I’m in Houston!”

It’s in a relatively busy part of Houston but noise was never an issue. There are several restaurants within walking distance and ~10 minutes away from downtown. Ann is a great host all around.”
“Excellent location! Close to bars and restaurants, very clean and organized place! I found it very complete; Anna provides earplugs for those sensitive to car noise, but honestly, the noise didn't bother me! It's a well-located area with car traffic nearby, but it's a very safe place! I walked with my boyfriend to the Bodega burger place, and it's really worth going there! I also loved the outdoor area where I could exercise in the morning! I highly recommend this stay.”

“Ann’s place was EXACTLY what I needed for a week in between leasing my own Air BnB in Shady Acres (The Heights HTX) . She was so kind, accommodating and easy to reach for a quick question. I don’t often use “shared space” filter when booking, but Ann makes it feel like your “own space”. She has created a space with all the privacy one would ask for. I would definitely recommend Ann’s private little hide away!”

“Ann‘s place was clean and comfortable for the most part. As she describes and is very transparent, it is quite noisy between 10 in the morning until 10 at night with traffic and loud music. Also, the stench of fast food restaurants nearby, will occasionally seep into the Airbnb, so if you’re sensitive to smells, not so good. Parking situation is not ideal, as you have to park very precariously across the road between 2 very deep holes and pull as close to a fence as you can so your car doesn’t get hit by through traffic. Also, the entrance to the Airbnb is on the side of the townhouse and quite narrow, and there’s no smooth surface to pull a suitcase with wheels. So, you have lift heavy luggage or other things to bring in and twist and turn to get through the narrowest part.
Other than that, Ann is a very nice host and allowed for early check-in.
If you don’t mind the noise and the parking situation, it’s a good place to stay.”

I really appreciated having the attached, private bathroom, chairs/desk, and access to the outdoor patio area. Ann also provides a mini-fridge and coffee maker in the room! The room is pretty big, exactly what you see in the photos is what it looks like in person.
You even have your own little backyard patio. The noise isn’t bad , there’s regular day noise (cars, music, train). At night I didn’t hear much noise, she also has ear plugs for those light sleepers. I parked horizontally on the parking spot she recommended I drove a small suv so I felt like it was going to be more secure that way (not the bumper too close to the street). She gives you a remote that opens the gate, and to get in the room is super easy. I would totally want to stay at Ann’s place once I go back to Houston.”

Many of the furnishings are cool craftsman works of art, impressive and also lovely to look at and ponder. The area is close by to the Heights and Washington Ave., which is great, and one block from Shepherd Dr, which has its noise factor. A nice stay overall, and would definitely book again!”

I would say the parking situation is a bit inconvenient with it being on the side of the road and I was a little bit worried about our vehicle, but it was fine during our stay. Also, seen a couple pests in the closet but besides that everything else is pretty much up to par and was nice for a couple days in Houston.”

“Ann’s space was not only clean and functional, but as an artist, the room was filled with gorgeous work and funky lamps! The lighting in the room was so relaxing.
Also, the closet is huge!! We packed overnight bags, but if we needed to stay multiple nights, we would have plenty of space to store clothes & shoes.
Lastly, we enjoyed getting Mexican food just across the street for dinner too! It was a great stay!”
