The location is also unbeatable! There are restaurants and convenience store down the road. Also, Bryce resort is only 5 minutes away.

“This is probably the cleanest and the most equipped Airbnb I have visited in the USA. The place is cozy and warm. Everything was clean and nice. The only thing that the location is a pit private and not a lot to do in the winter. But I believe in the warmer weather it is much more fun.”
“Lisa was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Home was as described. More than enough room for my four kids. We went for Xmas week above and beyond by setting up a Christmas tree for us. I spend every Xmas at and Airbnb Cabin and this was one of the more roomier ones out there. tall ceilings and midcentry modern look. I can imagine if it snowed the road up would prove to be difficult on and out even with 4x4. But it's the kind of place you wouldn't mind to be snowed in at. Having stayed at over a dozen cabins I prefer workable fireplaces. But they set thiers up with electric Candles that still give a nice ambiance in the night. Internet speeds were around 300mbps download and 100mbps upload. It was easy to host zoom meetings and attend meetings and stremed Christmas movies with ease.”

Lisa, the host is very communicative and prompt, it was a joy to work with her and book this house. The weekend was relaxing and a great area to stay in to have some time to hang out with family.
We made a lot of meals in the kitchen and "put it through it's paces," so all the extra cookware and cutlery was nice to have. We watched some movies on the nice 55" smart TV, smoked cigars on the back patio with a fire in the outside chimney (loved the cushioned seating and festoon lighting outside), we even did some canvas painting after a lovely walk around the lake. The beds are very comfortable and having 3 bathrooms in the house is a bonus! So all-in-all, this house is very cozy, well decorated and laid out and feels like home away from home! 10/10 would recommend!”

“If you are looking for a place that's quiet, clean, spacious, with lots of amenities, look no further!! There are 4 bedrooms, 5 beds, three full bathrooms and two of the bedrooms have their own bathrooms! The little touches, such as child protected plugs, water filled in the Britta filter, water filled in the Keurig coffee maker, and much more, were fantastic!! We found the Blockbuster video "store" in one of the primary bedroom closets especially cute!! The furniture was comfortable, the wi-fi was fast and stable, the kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals and store leftovers. If you don't want to cook, there are several restaurants close by, along with a convenience store. We'd love to stay at Black Bear Lodge again!!”

“We made best of the rainy weather we had while here over spring break, visited the Shenandoah caverns, route 11 chip factory where you can sample the chips, Shenandoah duck pin bowling and we also took a longer drive to the safari. The surrounding mountains and farmland was beautiful as well as the lake, we did try to catch some fish but had no bites. The place had everything we needed and fit the group of 5 well. The kids like the arcade games. It was very peaceful and we saw and heard some pretty birds. We enjoyed our week despite the weather.”

There so many amazing little details in the house that clearly showed how much Lisa cares about her place and her guests. We felt right at home. She would respond so quickly and had wonderful recommendations. It felt like you were talking to a friend! My kids loved the 2 recliners and the arcade games.. I loved the little outdoor pit and all the little bear details throughout the house (even a bear stamp on the TP!). There are a couple lovely hikes nearby, wineries, farms for the kids, caverns.. all within 30min of the house. We had a great time and will def come back here if in area.”

Before we got there, Lisa sent us an extensive list of places to eat and things to do in the area that would appeal to every member of our family. She even made a goodie bag for our little one with autism so that he would be more comfortable in the event that he had any issues at any of the places that we went to.

Lisa was responsive, helpful, and patient as I asked a ton of questions about what to do and see in the area. Her recommendations for local food establishments was on point as well as the local activities to include the gorgeous lake nearby, winery in Woodstock, and local towns to explore. The Bear Lodge was absolutely stunning and adorable with the Bear theme throughout the cabin, plenty of relaxing activities to enjoy, and the peaceful back deck in the woods w/ fire pit. This is our first visit to the area, but we know we’ll be coming back and look forward to our opportunity to relax and recharge in Basye! Thank you, Lisa for being amazing!”
