“Perfect for our needs. We had a lovely simple Memorial Day Weekend getaway with our parents and 2-year-old. It rained all weekend so we were not able to utilize the fire pit or backyard much but one day it was clear enough to grill. Friendly neighbors, beautiful small grounds, games inside, had all the basics in the kitchen/bathroom/bedrooms. The hosts were proactive about any issues (road conditions in the weather day-of, how to check in, etc) and readily responsive.”

Enough bedrooms for 6 people and having 2 bathrooms was great, lovely, spacious living room and great outdoor decks! The only drawback was a small kitchen and counter space but we made it work, not a problem!
Love sitting around the fire pit each night and looking at the stars!! We were also visited by the neighbor’s dog who was very sweet and obedient !
David and Becky were very easy to communicate with and kept in touch each day!!
The location was central to Skyline and Luray and we visited both, many good restaurants and we thoroughly enjoyed the meadery in the city of Luray called Sage!
We were very blessed to have our elderly dog with us, our hosts offer a dog friendly home which was lovely!!
I would recommend this home for a much needed getaway, it was in a very peaceful setting and very relaxing!!

“They were good hosts, but some information about the rental were not listed. The tap water is not drinkable nor is a filter or bottles provided. Dogs are not allowed on the beds. The road to the rental is not paved, so be aware of that when you’re booking. The living room is small, and note there is no dishwasher in the kitchen. Otherwise, they were communicative hosts, bedrooms were comfy, and the porch is large and very lovely.”

Close to town of Luray where we dined at different restaurants, enjoyed ice cream & tried the local brewery. This place is an excellent price & affordable for the weekend. Very clean & spacious. We had 3 adult couples together for the weekend and each couple had their own room & 2 bathrooms in the residence. Highly recommend!”

“Home away from home! Our family enjoyed our stay here at Forest Glen. The beds were excellent! I can’t even begin to describe the level of comfort. The kitchen had everything one would need to make meals. We brought eggs, frozen meats, milk, water and vegetables from our own home, and were able to refrigerate everything in the cabin! We saved money not having to eat out each day. I accidentally dropped the kitchen spatula on a burner, and it melted. 😱 The hosts were so kind and forgiving—and they wouldn’t charge us for it! I loved that the hot water for the shower and sinks were always hot— perfect water for ‘warshing’ the dishes.😁 Our last night my husband got the fire pit going and we had roasted some marshmallows and listened to some Smokey Mountains Hymns of Faith Bluegrass . Moon and stars illuminated the entire backyard. We saw a few stick bugs, which the children loved. Our 7 year old cried his eyes out as we left. We are already planning our return— Thank you, David & Becky!”

Their place was easily accessible, great WiFi, clean and felt very homey. Also, David & Becky were extremely kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone! :)

“We were a party of 5 adults + a big dog and loved hanging out here. We lounged in the living room, had a meal on the front porch deck, and enjoyed a nice campfire. It is a great location for accessing the Shenandoah River and best of all, David and Becky were super quick with messaging AND providing really awesome tips for where to hang out on the river - stuff you can't necessarily find just researching online. The hot tips on river access honestly made the trip!
The house itself was very clean and had all the amenities you need for a few days' stay. We had stuff plugged in a lot and was usually cooking so the lights flickered a couple of times but I'm pretty sure it's because we were using a lot of energy. Also, we were coming from Washington DC and noticed the water had a slightly different taste and smell to it - the hosts said it was safe and I drank from the tap but just FYI if you're sensitive to those things.”

We like cooking our own food even when traveling, so I cannot tell you about the restaurants around this place... but the kitchen was okay- slightly less equipped than we expected, but like I said, we like cooking... so our expectations could have been higher than others'. However, this place was clean, and the mattresses were so comfortable, all the bathrooms were clean as well! Every room had its own controller for heater, which was very helpful to set the temperature to individual's liking. Would definitely recommend this place!”

“The cabin is well situated for all there is to do in Luray. We hiked, hit the caverns, and ziplined. Wisteria Winery is not to far and Hawksbill Brewing is worth a stop. I like the Farmer's Brown Ale. We had breakfast at Hawksbill Dinner and dinner at Dan's Steakhouse. The cabin was very clean and had the basics plus some extras. The beds were comfy for a sold rest but not before a campfire and smores. This is a very well-run airbnb. We had no issues with the road and we were driving a very small rebtap car (Nissan Kicks).”

The house had plenty of room and everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. David and Becky were very thorough with information on directions to the house and sights to see in the area. It was an easy drive to the Shenandoah Park entrance, approx. 30 minutes and a shorter drive to the Luray Caverns. I felt we were in a good location to be near attractions but also out in a quiet area. I would definitely return to rent again.”

For anyone concerned about the road to the property, don’t be. It’s gravel yes, and a bit steep sure, but it’s really quite easy to drive up and down (I drive a Civic). Go slow and you’ll have absolutely no problem.

“Cabin is smaller than it appears in the pictures, which are a bit deceiving. This cabin is very far from any convenience store or Shenandoah Natl. Park, which, in my opinion, makes it very undesirable. If you're looking for a remote getaway for a small family then this may be worth it, but it doesn't have the cabin feel I was looking for, as you can see directly to the neighbor's homes.”
“We had a comfortable stay at David and Becky's place. Everything went very well from checkin to checkout. Infact they were very kind and accommodating and allowed us a slightly late checkout.
The cabin is spacious and has all basic stuff one would need. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well after our long days out hiking in the National Park. We didn't get time to enjoy the yard and fire pit due to a packed schedule but we hope to do that when we are back in the area and stay at this cabin again!

“(7/5 - 7/8) I had a great time at Forest Glen during my recent road-trip and stay in the Shenandoah mountains. My positive experience with Becky and David started even before I reached there and was very appreciative of how easy they made it for me to add another day to my original booking. The description of the cabin, also what to expect including the gravel road, was spot on, and everything was just as described when we checked in.
The cabin itself, with the 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, was exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was clean, well equipped, and the location perfect. The views from the front deck were great. The kitchen was well equipped and more than adequate, and we didn't have any difficulty making our meals.
Although we spent most of the time out in the mountains and in the SNP, we loved the time that we spent indoors as well. The DVD collection was a surprise hit, couple of our girls had never used a DVD before and we ended up watching a DVD movie both nights.
We stayed 3 nights and my overall experience was great. I recommend Forest Glen and Becky and David and I would consider staying at one of their cabins next time I am in the area.”

“Great house in Luray with all the amenities. Our group of five + small dog thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Three cozy bedrooms and two bathrooms with a spacious living/dining area. There was also a fire pit with seating and two porches also with seating. The house was fully stocked with towels, clean linens, cleaning supplies, and kitchen wares. There were also games and DVDs for entertainment. We used the charcoal grill to cook our Memorial Day BBQ. David and Becky were communicative both before our trip and during our stay. We really appreciated their hospitality and I would highly recommend booking with them for your visit to the Shenandoah Valley!”
