Grand View is near “Shenandoah Vista", another one of our 6-guest properties. While separated by a wooded area, the homes are walkable yet private - ideal for multiple families or friends traveling together. Guest access Guests have access to entire home. Parking is available near the home or on the driveway. Other things to note Location & Travel Times: The charming town of Luray and the famous Luray Caverns are 20 mins away. Thornton Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park (off Hwy 211) is a scenic 25–30 minute drive from the cabin. Shenandoah River Outfitters is less than a 5 minute drive away. Road Conditions: The uphill road leading to Grand View is gravel and not state or county maintained. 4WD or AWD is recommended in inclement weather (heavy snow / rain). The road can be a bit bumpy, so feel free to drive on whichever side is smoother. Groceries & Essentials: We recommend picking up groceries before arrival, as the nearest stores are about 12 miles away. A charcoal grill is available (please bring your own charcoal). Campfire wood available for purchase / $10 per bundle. Electric Vehicles: No EV charging is available on-site, and use of indoor or outdoor electrical outlets is not permitted. If you need to charge your vehicle, convenient charging stations can be found in the nearby town of Luray. Have questions? Don’t hesitate to reach out before your stay.

“We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. It was very well stocked which is the biggest plus when grocery stores are 20 minutes away. The home had everything you would expect with an air bnb. The furnishings were not the fanciest and some of the finish construction work could be better. Overall a very nice stay and the host were accommodating to our request for early check in.”
“This is a beautiful home with even more beautiful views. David & Becky gave clear instructions on the best ways ti get into the home. They left plenty of firewood for purchase so we didn’t have to make an additional trip to the store. Had all of the amenities we needed. The property was perfect for kids to explore and for adults to relax.”

“This was the 4th time we stayed at one of David & Becky's places,...first time at THIS house. Everything was as described, & actually MORE spacious than the photos indicated, esp the living room and dining room. Our family of 4 (not small folks here) did not feel cramped. Beds were COMFORTABLE. Overall feeling very much like home. The views are amazing and the woods feel private. I could sit there forever. Plenty of space to park and turn a big car around.
Just FYI, as the host suggests, 4-wheel-drive is recommended for the short gravel road going up to the house, still our big (2WD) VW Atlas made it up with some rock-kicking. But it was not scary. More FUNNNN :)
Also fyi the hot tub is on the lower floor with somewhat steep steps going down. There are tall railings, and the view from the hot tub was just as great as the living room's view.

“The hosts gave great instructions on getting to the place! I’d say in any inclement weather, you’d want a FWD but my little 2WD camry managed the gravel drive just fine. Their home serves for the perfect little getaway. They’ve got a small library of paperbacks, DVDs, board games. Pretty much anything you could want entertainment wise. There were a few little bugs here and there but that’s to be expected when you’re out in the woods. There are other homes pretty close by but we didn’t have any issues with noise or anything. Overall a great stay! There’s plenty of things to do out in nature or in Luray. We did some hiking in Shenandoah National Park, but didn’t really check out the restaurants because we have a dog with separation anxiety lol. Overall, I’d highly recommend a stay here. Especially if you can stay for more than a couple nights.”

The house was also clean and well equipped.
If I may suggest just one little improvement, it concerns the Internet, which went often off. So maybe just an internet service a bit more efficient. But, compared to all the goods of this place and their hosts, of course this is small and bearable thing.

“A clean, comfortable, well stocked cabin with a great view. It was an extra cold weekend and the heater kept the place hoodie-comfortable during the coldest times. We borrowed blankets from an unused bed to have more warmth at night. It’s good to note that the jacuzzi is located below the cabin level and requires going outside to access - but was worth braving the snow to go take a soak and watch the snow fall! Overall, an excellent stay at Grand View, we will definitely be adding this one to the list of places we’d visit again, only maybe when it’s a bit warmer out!”

“This was my third time staying at David & Becky’s cabin. It’s always a nice time. They provide bonfire wood for a small fee so you don’t have to bring your own. They have a lot of kitchen appliances and basic spices. We brought groceries snd were happy to stay in the cabin the entire three nights. Lovely views!”

Speaking of activities, the location was truly fantastic for outdoor adventures like canoeing and bike riding. “The Grand View cabin was so beautiful and peaceful! Gorgeous views, impeccably clean and well-stocked if you want to cook. David & Becky were very quick to respond and very helpful with instructions on getting there- they even asked a neighbor to let us borrow a snow shovel during a storm. We would definitely stay there again! My only comment is that there wasn’t enough hot water to really utilize the jacuzzi tub, but possibly just because we stayed in the middle of winter. Great place overall 👍🏼”

“The kitchen is beautifully stocked with pots, pans, glass baking dishes. Everything you need! Bedrooms all a great size and comfortable!
The only scary thing is the driveway. Low clearance vehicles may have trouble getting through some of the ruts on the road that the cabin is on. I parked towards the top of the driveway as I was driving a large van, and my tires started to spin as I drove out. Definitely best to have a 4 or AWD vehicle.”

“We had such a great stay here! True to the description, it is quite a steep drive to get up to the house, so make sure your vehicle can handle it. The house was beautiful, clean, and in a very picturesque location. If we find ourselves in the area again, we would definitely stay here again!”
“This place is serene and magical! It was the perfect spot for our group of friends to have a self-organized meditation and yoga retreat for the weekend. And still close enough to Shenandoah for hiking! The hosts were extremely helpful and responsive. They responded very quickly to the few things that came up during our stay.
A few things we learned:
-There's a beautiful walking path right along the river that's accessible from the boat launch area, right across the main road near the house
-The tub is really more of a bathtub than a hot tub. Not a bad thing, just different from our expectations.”

Cabin easily accommodated my party (x2 adults, x3 young children). The highlight for the children was the spa bath, for me it was the views from the deck.

“We stayed at David and Becky's place for 4 nights as a base for our adventures in the Luray area. The property totally exceeded our expectations even after we already saw in the listing how beautiful the location was. The hosts are very friendly, helpful and communicated very clearly and in time to ensure our stay was most enjoyable. The place has everything you need for family stay. Our favorite thing there was to watch the sun rising above the mountains every morning right from the deck and from the living room. The nature that surrounds the property makes it feel like you are in a tree house among the birds, squirrels and the like. Walks to the nearby lake and Shenandoah river were wonderful. We wanted to get to DC, but decided to skip just so we can spend another day in and around the house. Living room is very charming. The bedrooms provided enough space for us, the kitchen was very well equipped, the bathrooms clean. We can't recommend this property and the hosts highly enough.”

We really appreciated being able to bring our dog too!!! Their instructions for check in were very detailed and easy to follow! We would definitely stay again next time we are in the area!”
