We are in Byron Bay and tucked into a quiet leafy pocket of Byron, this architect designed home has a relaxed Scandinavian feel, with bamboo and paperbark trees outside and even the occasional visiting koala. There’s also a stunning Yoga studio in our garden that we let guests book for private lessons or their own practice. Beaches, cafés and town are all close by. Free bikes + parking. Loved by solo female travellers and couples for its privacy, security and peaceful, safe location. The Roadhouse Cafe is steps away and the General Store cafe is close by too. Byron town centre is a twenty minute (2km) walk. Taxis/Ubers are available for around $10. This is the perfect retreat for those who love experiencing local culture, food and attractions and just need a special space to come back to at the end of the day - perfectly positioned away from the noise while still close to everything. Something to note - we don't have air-conditioning, preferring instead to enjoy the sub-tropical feel with a ceiling fan for cooling. We also don't have a big kitchen. The kitchenette is compact rather than designed for full cooking - it is deliberately a little studio experience designed for people who want to be out sampling the fabulous food Byron has to offer, not cooking at home! The studio is attached to, but separate from our house. You have your own entrance and your own private outdoor area. We love giving guests their space — this is definitely not B&B style accommodation! We're nearby if you need anything, but most Byron guests are out exploring and you likely won't need us at all. Our yoga shala is in the garden attached to our home and we happily allow guests to reserve it for their private practice - we just check that the time works for us and that it is free. The garden terrace is a quiet space for morning coffee or an evening wind-down however we ask guests to keep noise to a minimum out of respect for neighbours and keep things quiet from 10pm. This is a retreat for those seeking peace and calm, not a party space and that's exactly why our guests love it. No children as the studio isn't set up for little ones — so sorry! No smoking inside or outside. Exempt

The space itself is beautiful, comfortable, and peaceful. The location is ideal! There is a great coffee spot just up the road at Sunseeker, with restaurants and a grocery store only a short 10 minute walk away, along with easy access to Tallow Beach. I loved having the bikes available, which made it easy getting around town.

One of our absolute favourite things about the studio was the two pedal bikes. Such a brilliant touch! We used them every day and loved biking around Byron, it took us under 10 minutes to ride into the main beach area, and the bike lanes made it super easy and safe.

“Well having scoured the reviews before I booked, I was so excited to arrive at Clare's place and I was definitely not disappointed in the least! It's so private, clean and very well equipped also Clare is a hostess with the mostest, she will endeavour to make sure that your stay in Byron is all you wished for and more. I loved the fact that there were push bikes to use, it made the journey around Byron a bit easier. The Bed is possibly THE comfiest bed I've ever slept in, with lovely bedding and super supportive pillows. There's some basic kitchen equipment and a fridge, enough to make a little meal if you fancy trekking back into town and it's so lovely to sit in the private garden to eat and listen to the birds.....For myself, this was a most magical stay enhanced by Clare's attention to detail and amazing kindness. “We loved our stay at Clare’s place she was so welcoming and gave us a lot of information on the local area on arrival and continued to offer recommendations to where to visit and eat out throughout our stay. The place was just perfect too from the wonderful scandi interior with thoughtful touches such as candles, books, dressing gowns and beautiful smelling toiletries to the gorgeous little outside area where we relaxed many an evening.
Byron Bay itself is such a lovely place to visit, although very busy, Clare’s place was far enough out to escape the crowds but near enough to walk or cycle (bikes provided) into the centre. There was a quiet and beautiful beach about 15 mins walk across the road through a nature reserve (where we spotted a wallaby) and a couple of great places for coffee and food within 5 minutes walk for breakfast or lunch (both drinks and food were delicious).
We would definitely recommend this place to stay and use as a base to explore as well as relax in.”

“We had a very busy time in Byron for a family wedding so coming home to the peace and serenity of Clare's place was idea to chill out in between events. The studio is a 15-20 minute walk into Byron which was fine for us and 15ish minutes to the closest beach, Tallow. We ventured out on the bikes but the main road is very busy with traffic so you need to be alert! We had no trouble getting an Uber when required. The studio is exactly as described. Clare was lovely, responded quickly to any enquiries and checked in from time to time to see how everything was. This is a great place to stay for a short break in Byron.”

“Clare's studio was the perfect little retreat for our long weekend in Byron. Clare was friendly and attentive and made us feel welcome right from the start. The studio was clean, modern and comfortable and we felt right at home. The courtyard is lovely and relaxing and we loved having a day time nap with the doors open listening to the breeze in the trees and the birds. We even got to see a Koala thanks to Clare pointing it out. We had such a lovely time and couldn't recommend Clare's place highly enough.”

“We had an amazing stay in Clare’s place. Just a short cycle into town (bikes provided by Clare) or a 15 min walk, all flat road and cycle lanes the whole way in & out of town.
Clare’s place was the perfect mix of wanting to be close to the town but having a peaceful oasis to come home to. Clare’s responses were very quick and helpful anytime we needed anything, she had lots of local recommendations.
