Occasional power outages can occur on Eleuthera. Moonflower has a solar backup system that supports essential services, although some appliances and air conditioning may not be available during an outage. An additional battery backup helps maintain internet connectivity. Water pressure may decrease during power outages. If an outage continues for an extended period, Marty may need to be contacted to switch the water supply to city water. “We had an incredible stay at Moonflower! There were issues with our flight and the Moonflower team was highly responsive and able to work with us to shift the dates of our stay so that we didn't miss out on any vacation time, which was a wonderful first impression before we even arrived. Moonflower is easy to find and get to, just a short drive back off the main road and across from a local restaurant. The house was in excellent shape and well equipped with everything we needed for a weeklong stay. It was great being able to walk out of the house and down to the beach every day. Gaulding Cay is one of our favorite beaches on the island and perfect for visiting with kids, it was one of the main reasons we decided to stay at Moonflower and it was exactly the right choice. Great wifi, good showers, and some of the best a/c we've experienced on the island in a rental house. We would love to stay at Moonflower again!”

“Moon flower is such a hidden gem. I almost don’t want to put this review on here because I want to keep it to myself!
The team was so responsive to our every need. The location was ideal literally steps to the beach and all the toys to go with. We did have a brief power outage, but the team responded immediately and helped get us back in action. It’s a perfect location because it’s walkable to daddy Joe’s across the street which is a great place for food and live music.! we will be back. Thank you so much :-)”

“Moonflower was exactly as described. And the host was excellent, always responded within 10-15 minutes. The setting right on Gaulding Cay was lovely, and daddy Joe’s restaurant a short walk away was great. You’ll definitely need a car to explore all the great sights nearby. The host was also great with local reccomendations. And they had really nice lounge chairs to bring down to the beach. Couple of small things could have made the stay more enjoyable - 1) there wasn’t a full length mirror, that’s an easy fix 2) the fitted sheets on the bed kept coming off, there was no elasticity to keep them secure. It would be nice to have better quality sheets 3) the interiors were a little tired, there was a picture hook on the wall with no picture on it. And by the 5th day the shower clogged. But overall, it was a good value and the beach just a few steps away can’t be beat!”

“Steps from a stunningly beautiful beach, Moonflower offered everything we needed for a relaxing family beach vacation. There were probably 10 lightweight Adirondack chairs and another 10 chaises lounges that we could carry a few hundred steps to the beach each day, along with a full basket of great beach towels. There was a delightful outdoor area where we could sit and read in the sun or shade, a front patio where we ate breakfast and looked through the pines to the turquoise waters of Gaulding Cay, and a shady side porch with comfortable chairs. We walked 10 min up the private dirt road to Daddy's Joe's for dinner, or cooked in the fully equipped kitchen. In the evenings we all piled onto the many couches in the large living room to watch TV or read. The beds were very comfortable and they came with lots of linens. The bathrooms were clean with white, fluffy towels. The dining table seated at least 8 comfortably. The AC units and ceiling fans worked excellently. We will return!”

“This was my first time in the Bahamas. I am so thrilled we stayed at Moonflower. First- location. Gaulding Cay is stunning and frequently listed as one of the best beaches on Eleuthera for good reason. The color of the water and serenity is magnificent. snorkeling started our days and sunset paddles ended them. The home has so many toys and amenities. The outdoor shower and spaces are wonderful. Daddy Joes is within walking distance with consistent good food and a warm friendly staff. Their warmth was only surpassed by the Moonflower owners who were always available, kind and helpful. i truly hope to return to this magic island and beautiful home.”

“Probably my favorite Airbnb ever. A spacious, comfortable interior paired with a beautiful location made for the perfect stay. The location was ideal as it wasn’t too far from ELH and is close to Gregory Town where you get groceries and find more restaurants on top of Daddy Joe’s right across the street. The host was kind, responsive, and informative to the highest degree. We even received an Eleuthera calendar as a parting gift!
When our flight home got cancelled due to inclement weather, we reached out to the host about staying one more night, to which Emily obliged at no extra cost. The hospitality we received was exemplary and true to the Bahamian way. We’ll definitely choose the Moonflower on our next trip to the Bahamas!”

“Moonflower couldn’t be more perfect! We were a group of seven and the 4 bedrooms and all the common spaces were so fantastic for accommodating that many people. We loved the location, right on what has got to be one of the best beaches on Eleuthera. Sunsets were incredible. The Moonflower team was so responsive to all our needs and communication with them was fantastic. We cannot wait to come back one day!!”

“As other reviewers have mentioned, the beach is particularly beautiful - it was for us a welcome respite after 3 days at Atlantis, and we enjoyed walking along it in the mornings before other day trips, or for watching the gorgeous sunsets. I'd also add that the Moonflower team were incredibly helpful in my pre-planning stages (helping me choose tours, find car rentals, travel options, etc), and were also very responsive answering questions when we were there. The location was ideal for our first visit to Eleuthera, mid way between trips to Harbor Island (which we loved!) or Governor's Harbor. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and well stocked, and our teenagers really loved having their own space. Definitely recommend :)”

“Moonflower is the perfect introduction to Eleuthera - a land of friendly people, pristine beaches, delicious food, and Eden-like foliage. All of this existed at this house. Being steps away from one of the most perfect beaches you’ll ever see is worth the rental of the home alone, but you will find you completely de-stress as soon as you come to this property. Absolutely perfect for a family stay and held 8 of us very comfortably. Emily was the most responsive host I’ve ever encountered and very generous in giving us a late check-out when she did not have a renter the following day.. I cannot recommend Moonflower highly enough!”

“The house and location were key in helping us have a fantastic family vacation with our 3 adult children , and their kids. The living room was spacious with lots of comfortable seating for everyone ( there were 9 of us). The bedrooms were spaced so that everyone had a buffer. The house was very well supplied with all the essentials and Emily was very very responsive to any of our requests.
The beach was wonderful. We loved that it was a park. Never more than a few people on the whole beach but it was fun to have locals and tourists to chat with. The kayaks were another great addition.”

“The beach is simply one of the best we have ever seen. Imagine leaving your house and walking a short distance to the calm Caribbean Sea. The sand is as pure white as it can get. One could walk hundreds of feet into the water without it getting deep! The beach was tranquil—I think at any one time, there weren't more than three or four people along a one-kilometre stretch. With four bedrooms, Emily's house can easily accommodate a large family or two. Eleuthera is the place to be for relaxation, i.e. there is no "nightlife" to write about.”

“Emily your place is amazing in all aspects, the house is very beautiful, the location is top notch, the beach is breathtakingly amazing. I like the place so much I’m planning on having my vows renewed there, the place is perfect for family and friends, or wedding events. Emily’s house is one of the most beautiful beach house we have stayed in, we had a wonderful time there and great memories were made there . The host was amazing from the start to finish, I like to thank the whole staff for making our vacation a great and memorable experience. Much love to all of you.”
