“The description of the unit is wildly misleading. While the hosts have made sure it qualifies as a “private” unit with a private entrance through the side gate and no shared “living spaces,” quite literally the unit is shared with the main house. It is a converted porch, which honestly adds charm and wasn’t the problem for us. The problem for us was positioning this unit as a private “romantic getaway” while simultaneously listing the main house as family friendly. The main house had multiple families staying above and beside us, with several children screaming and running and crying throughout the days. The walls are so paper thin, that we could hear all the families on vacation next door were saying, including their coffee orders. This is not the place it appears to be online, and the price is way too high. We could not even open our window at any point because it directly looks upon the front patio of the main house, which appeared to be a primary living space for that unit.”

“Truly enjoyed my stay at the property. Hey Vacay was always responsive and provided extremely clear and accurate instructions for everything—even giving a helpful forewarning about potential reptilian roommates. Sure enough, a tiny lizard stopped by the shower to welcome me to St. Pete before quickly moving along! The property was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. As a solo traveler, I felt safe throughout my stay and appreciated how easy everything was from check-in to check-out. I would absolutely stay here again 😊”

“The area was great very close to everything in St. Petersburg (5 -15 minutes away from all the hotspots). The parking was a little bit of a hassle sometimes having to park far from the Airbnb unless we were lucky. Other than that it was a great spot with the cutest pond and park across the way. Inside was so cute and comfortable, perfect for a small getaway. The hosts were very responsive and friendly.”

“Overall very good airbnb in North Downtown St Pete! Parking was relatively easy. I had no issues finding the unit and getting inside. There were only 2 things that I feel affected my stay and I don’t know if I can even consider the hosts at fault for this. I was woken up at 6-7 am everyday by someone running in the unit above where I was staying. Sounded like a little child. I’m not sure if this other unit is being used as an airbnb as well or what the situation was, but very difficult to sleep with such disruptive noise coming from above. The other thing was there was a lot of mosquitoes in the unit even though I made sure to quickly close the door behind me each time I had opened it. I don’t even know where they were coming from but I woke up with several bug bites after the first night of my stay. I didn’t notice any other bugs though - just mosquitos. I still thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the twisted tulip.”

“It's a cute little place to stay. It is a converted porch, which was fine, but we didn't realize that until we got there. We experienced cold weather, so the heater they had in there didn't keep the place very warm. The location is great. Everything is within walking distance.”

“The Twisted Tulip was exactly as it was depicted in the pictures. No doubt that they put a good spin on making you feel you are in a fantastical type of place. It was fun to have such a unique experience. It is not a large place though so we would recommend only 1-2 people stay there at a time. It seems like this area in Florida requires a great deal of attention due to all of the foliage so a recommendation would be keeping the outside area a bit cleaner. It is decorated equally as unique as the inside but could use further maintenance. We would tell anyone who wants to stay in a quiet and happy place, this is a great choice.”

“The decor was fun! Cute patio. Nice shady neighborhood with a coffee spot within walking distance. Parking was tight but we managed to find a spot within a reasonable distance each time.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t fully enjoy the space due to the overwhelming chemical smell throughout. I was hoping it would dissipate at some point, it did not. Upon returning home, I had to wash my pillows as the heavy odor clung to them. In addition, there’s a very unpleasant smell in the bathroom, which I’m guessing is mold but smells like dirty socks. I made the contact person aware and they said they’d let the owners know.
The biggest issue we had was being woken up by a strange man entering the apartment around 7:30am. Turned out to be the maintenance man, honest mistake, but we didn’t find this out until an hour+ later as he didn’t say anything at the time and it took a while for the contact to respond.
All considered, our stay was a mixed bag.”

“This place is a short walk from the best part of Down Town St. Pete! I walked to Poshe nail salon one morning, just a 7 min. walk and there was a star bucks right next door. Literally was singing Up Town Girl to myself the whole way back lol. My husband and I walked about 15 minutes to the AMC movie theater two days in a row, Faye stopping for Happy Hour at Boccus! Can’t beat their prices and atmosphere. Plus you get to build your own charcuterie! We saw two movies, and took the Sun Runner to St. Pete beach on our last day. We set up our chairs in front of Coconut Charlie’s and popped in and out of the ocean to get drinks and snacks there. Loved the live music! The sun runner was a 10 min walk from here, and then about 25 minutes to the beach. Honestly can’t beat the convenience. This place was so colorful and cute! Screams Pink Pony Club!!”

“This place was so perfect! My friend and I chose it because the decor really matched our ‘Moms Weekend Off’ girls trip vibe, but we were pleasantly surprised by the location, friendly host, accessible street parking, and ease of check-in/check-out. The space is fun and totally functional for two people. The bedroom is quite literally on the porch of a separate Airbnb, so you can hear everything that happens outside of that door, but the curtains and blinds made it visibly private. I would absolutely stay here again and hope to sooner than later!”

“Spectacular design! I liked a lot the maximalism and all the pink and fuchsia details! The flat actually looks even better in real life than on photos! It’s recently renovated, has anything one might need for a vacation including coffee machine with coffee pods. All in pink, of course 😉
The location is walkable distance from the heart of the city. 20 mins to the pier or to the Central Ave. If you’re into craft beers, definitely go and checkout the local breweries. They all are located along the Central ave.
Also, there’s a nice cafe with breakfast bagels literally 2 minutes from the unit near the lake.”
